If you are already thinking negative, you are setting yourself up for failure with the Neo. As a famous person once said, “Trust but verify.”

Man relax. 😂

I just suggested that it's a concern. It's not that serious.

Even some iPhone 17 PM users had issues with the Cosmic Orange color. So it's not out of the realm to be concerned with a color choice.

The reason for that is using the Blend app is not something the casual user uses, much less on a daily basis.

No, Mr "Protocol", I mean.... the YouTube sensation of 5 years ago: Will It Blend?

I’ll turn it on and sign in to iCloud.

Comparison is the thief of joy. No expectations no frustrations.

We are past the days of technology existing on a bench. It is our lives. From my coffee maker to my car, it enables me to live a more informed easier life than I did growing up in the 60s and 70s.

Thank you very much for activating a dormant memory!

What happened to that guy? He was an original. His deadpan delivery was in a class of it's own - unlike the current crop of copycat-weird-facial-expression-pullers infesting Youtube now.

And yes, I bought a Blendtec (two actually). So it worked!

What happened to the orange 17PM phones ?

I have the titanium encased Air in blue - have not seen any wear yet...

Some orange color units turned pink.

Being that Citrus is also a vibrate color, I have a slight concern about it as well.

There are already cases available that fit the Neo. Here is one I found that looks good and at a reasonable price.

tomtoc 360° Protective Laptop Sleeve
Tomtoc makes quality sleeves and computer bags etc. If I didn’t already have Waterfield products, I would be looking at Tomtoc.

Hope somebody make a shell or case for protection. Or people will be calling Apple Care every week.

I'd hope that Apple has considered some level of durability, given the education market for the device.

Yes, they have - by going with casting aluminum then stamping and then heat forging for strength - Apple has reduced the cost instead of CNC machining a solid block of aluminum (MBA, MBP, etc).

I love the durability & strength of forge cast heat treated aluminum emergency tools in my 2nd amendment defense locker...

Forging and casting is still cheaper than machining even with the high initial cost of dies and molds. 6063 and 6065 aluminum holds up fine when properly heat treated. Plus way less waste.

Heat treated 6065 gets used as casting molds and firearm receivers all of the time. US armored personnel carries, infantry fighting vehicles and self propelled artillery hulls are made from aluminum. Vehicles are made from 7075 and the investment cast molds I use to make were a combo of 6065 and 7075.

Apple is rumored to be looking into 3d printing for the laptops and phones

Yes, I used to work on different types of aluminum when I was in college at a motion picture electronics house.

Loved T7075 for CNC and milling - very easy to work with.
OTOH T6061 and T6066 were difficult to mill / work on due to the brittle nature after being heat treated.

Why do you presuppose "somebody make a shell or case for protection. Or people will be calling Apple Care every week?"

Apple has made millions of laptops without needing a shell or case for protection. But if you really want one there are always great cases available suitable for river rafting, six-year-olds or whatever.
