As discussed in the thread above - the Incase Book Jacket is probably the best value that I've found. Fits great on the new iPad! And is the same price as a Smart Cover.

this case has a lip that ride around the edge of the ipad. Dust debris etc gets caught, which in IMO =crappy case. Now if they update this case to the iPad2 on the other hand. I am in!

After picking up a cheap leather smart cover courtesy of Tesco Direct :)D), I figure I'll have that on it and then use a sturdy sleeve so the back won't get scratched up when it's not in use.

The Smart Cover just doesn't appeal to me. Went with the Targus 360. Thing is awesome, looks professional, protects the entire iPad and stands in portrait and landscape

I got BodyGuardz placed on the front side (I had it done on my iPhone, too, with great results). I did not get it on the back for either the iPad or the iPhone because I'd heard that it's very prone to peeling away. Anyone can attest to this? So I'm actually looking for a clear silicon (Gelskin?) back now. Anyone have recommendations?

Waiting on otterbox to make a case. Damn they are slow. I'm just using a cheap screen protector and gel case curtesy of Ebay to hold me over...

I am currently using the Macally Clear Protective cover and picked up a Targus netbook neoprene case for 7.99 at Ross. Will probably order the Bear Motion Folio from amazon later.

Blue smart cover and a neoprene case. I am going to get the back skinned with ghost armor also.

Naked is the only way to go:D

I have an anti-glare screen protector on the front (The iPad 1.0 version is under $5 shipped for a 3 pack at handhelditems. I put it on more for the antiglare than the protection. I used a hole punch to make a hole for the camera.

I put one on the back side area that touches the surface its resting on. No other protection. I have a neoprene netbook bag for traveling that I picked up for $10 (Netbook bags are less expensive than iPad bags even though they are exactly the same product w/o the label. Great marketing).

The iPad 2 is so light and thin and generally feels great holding I can't see spending money to make it thicker and heavier. That is the whole reason I sold my iPad 1 to buy the 2.

I currently have a Bodyguardz skin on the front and back coupled with an iCarbons black carbon fiber skin on the back on top of the Bodyguardz. Currently waiting for ZooGue to ship out my Smart Case and that will do it for protection. I was debating on getting a Smart Cover as well but I don't think its worth it for $40 seeing once the ZooGue comes in I will probably never use it.

DODOcase for iPad 2

Great thread as always guys. Undoubtedly there are a lot of great case options out there. I definitely hope you'll check out the DODOcase for iPad 2.

If you are digging the sounds of a minimalist Smart Cover, but sure to at least protect the back of your iPad with a BOOKback.

Keep up the great suggestions and let us know if you have any questions.

Is this is sticker that would leave any kind of a residue if you wanted to take it off? also how thick is it?

will this leave a sort of residue on the back of the ipad if you decide to take it off? (and how do you take it off?) just wondering for resale value purposes.

I bought the targus 360 aswell, but im pretty peeved that they went from real leather on the Ipad 1 version to faux leather for the ipad 2 version. Its not made as well as the "Truss" either, yet it still costs the same.

Overall i think all the 3rd party cases for the Ipad 2 are pretty lame. The smart cover is cool but my Ipad is on the move all day every day and it needs real protection.

My Bodyguardz are supposed to be delivered today. I'm going BG on back with smart cover. How do you like the BG? I've never installed before.

I started with a Griffin portfolio case, but I really like using it naked.

WAS using my Black Leather Smart Cover....but I got in my Yoobao Leather case for my iPad 2 today and will most certainly be using that from now on :D
