Here's mine. Thinking about restoring my iPhone as new...real disappointed. iPhone 6s Plus 128gb

90% of my activity was just browsing instagram today.. Kinda disappointing TBH...

Anyone close to being as bad as this?

Did you turn off 'background app refresh' ? Massive battery savings. My s6 plus gets 6 hours of actual use and 8+ on standby.

Got some really solid battery life today on my 6s, off the charger at 5:30am and lasted all the way to 10pm with heavy use. LPM was turned on at 10%.

Because it benchmarked "low"? I'd be MUCH more worried about real world use.. LOL.

That's actually close to real world use in my typical day. I pretty much have to charge the phone in the afternoon each day--same as how it was when I have the 6. The reason I did the benchmark was because I noticed my battery drained real fast and is no where compare to wha I've seen posted here.

After about a week of playing around I finally settled back into real world usage. 6s 64gb, background refresh on for about 10 apps. I mostly just email, text, read forums and browse Instagram. No power save mode

Only 10 apps out of 26 are using background app refresh. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

That's good, I usually Keep them all off except when needed. For example if I'm waiting on a delivery I'll turn on the delivery app.

With them all off you will still get all your notifications, text and calls.

Unless you need an app running all the time you can probably keep it off.

;)

I'm keeping low power mode on this entire cycle and right now I'm at 60% with 3 hours 30 minutes of usage and 20 hours and 7 minutes of standby. Brightness has been at around 50%. It'll be interesting to see how much better it does. Right now it's looking like I'll get at least 3 extra hours.

This is with 5% left on my 6S and low power mode on nearly the entire time. Biggest usage was Safari & GarageBand and I downloaded Netflix for some video to test the battery further (but I rarely watch much video on my iPhone). Not impressed.

Couple of things, guys:
  • Please refrain from posting biased stats with "iPhone was charged"
  • Please mention your model if you report the battery life first time
  • Please prefer posting screens with 1-2% battery left as 30+ percentages give us inaccurate impressions
Regarding the reality, GSMarena recently posted tests and I consider their measurements pretty in line with what was reported here (not much improve for 6s and considerable improve for 6s+), see below. PhoneArena also posted measures but I doubt their result for 6s (8h), though 6+ seems realistic (9h).

If you didn't get AppleCare at the time of purchase - do it now, quickly.. Before 14 days are up - you can add AppleCare. Then if you suspect a battery issue -- it's on Apple to replace it from available stock.

Everybody's TURNED OFF that damned WIFI ASSIST thing... right?!... First of all it will eat your Data for LUNCH.. and second it's a super huge battery drain..

Also - unless you live in an area where you're between two cell towers of huge difference and you want to try and land on the stronger one.. MAKE SURE to go into Privacy/LocationServices/SystemServices and turn off the switch for Cell Network Search and Setting TimeZone.. You don't need either of those as they're automatic processes if you're staying in country. Bit battery eaters too. In fact most things in the SystemServices window are battery eaters, 90% of which you don't need.

Keep Routing and Traffic ON... because, and I'm often surprised to find that most people don't know this, that button allows YOUR POSITION to be reported as part of the flow of traffic. It has nothing to do with you GETTING to see traffic on your phone.. It reports YOUR position as part of the whole traffic flow.
You don't have to get applecare plus in 14 days. You have 60 days from the date of purchase to add applecare Plus to your iPhone device.

I am impressed with my Iphone 6s battery life coming from galaxy s6. I don't know why some people are saying the battery life is bad in Iphone 6s.

If Tmsc use 20% less juice than I am considering returning my 6s plus with Samsung because 20% is alot to me.

I'm on my second 6S+ as the first was returned with a faulty home button. I was getting superb battery life on that phone but the replacement is pretty poor. I have exactly the same settings and usage pattern but am getting over an hour less usage time from this phone. I'm quite disappointed and am probably going to exchange it purely due to the battery life. If this was my first 6S+ then I would know no different and assume that they're all like this, but I know otherwise.

I've seen no clear proof that the A9 chip manufacturer makes any difference in battery at all. Certainly none presented here that's conclusive.

do you know what chips were those?

First one Samsung, this one TMSC. I'm pretty sure that has nothing to do with it though. I've probably just got a poor battery, I mean the lifeblood of the phone only costs Apple a few dollars and I'm sure some are better than others.

I have been pretty pleased so far with my 6s 128gb. I still haven't gotten passed the first couple of charging cycles so if this keeps up, I will be satisfied. This is especially rewarding as I have come from an iPhone 5.

When you see these results posted with a lot of screen on time, am I correct in assuming screen brightness was very low?

Me too!! I've been giving you my 6S Plus specs so far. I have both - and will return one by Friday (end of 14 day return policy).. So my 6S is doing quite nicely so far..
