This was my 7plus 128gb MB. Last full charge was Saturday night, made it to 1:30 Monday afternoon. Low power mode here and there.

Compass calibration I leave off too. Except when traveling with Google maps. It has nothing to do with fitness apps. 90% of those switches are for Apple tracking us.. lol.

Let me show you my setup.

I'm not sure about fitness apps, but for sure is used by the Apple Watch during the calibration process. So you want to leave it on when you calibrate the apple watch, and turn it off then. I personally leave it on as it doesn't impact my battery life unless I track activities (walks, run) on my AW.

You could be right! I don't have an over-priced Apple Watch. I just know that switch doesn't affect anything with fitness on the phone itself.

Are you 100% certain that motion calibration and distance does not actually calibrate anything? You mentioned earlier that you turned it off on your iPhone and that your device still counts your steps as it should and that fitness tracking wasn't affected but I'm still hesitant to disable it

Coming from the SE, I have been shocked by the 7. I have no problem getting through the day with medium usage.

100% sure it has nothing at all to do with fitness apps tracking correctly. At the end of today my steps count, distance travelled and flights of stairs climbed were all higher than the screenshot I showed this am. I have never claimed turning off the switch does any other thing. You claimed it would hurt the ability of the fitness app's tracking. I just stated and proved that's false. I made no other claims.

Just turn it off and try. You phone won't blow up.. lol. You can always turn it back on.. :)

7 Plus restored from 6s Plus iCloud backup here. On 10.0.2 the battery seemed very similar to the 6s Plus even after a Reset of All Settings.
After updating to 10.1 beta 1 I've seen an improvement to the battery life. Hopefully it won't go back over the course of the beta.

This is my 6 Plus running 10.0.1. Been running this since release.

Markedly different than previous experience running iOS 9 variants with exact same settings. I am actively using this phone throughout the day, and have to charge to make it thru.

It was an impressive phone under iOS 9.

Sure thing, Thank you for the information I appreciate it,

Regarding the Traffic and Routing toggle in that system services menu, if I disable it, do I still get up to date traffic date and info in Google maps and Apple maps or does disabling that break the traffic feature? What does enabling that traffic and routing toggle affect?

Ok after reading this entire thread, can someone tell me if this is normal. Light/moderate usage on social media with 50% screen brightness, iPhone 7+ , it seems that some apps are using 1% every 2 minutes .....

Turning off Traffic only stops your data (position of you in a car) from being transmitted to Apple for other cars looking at Apple Maps. You still get data to Maps on your phone even with it off. But YOU go off grid to the rest of us driving. That button has nothing at all to do with Google Maps nor receiving traffic info. At least it didn't in iOS 8 nor 9. I haven't tried switching it off in 10.

I seem to be having an issue with Music. I went to bed with 83% and woke up with 40%. Not sure whats going on with it.

Gotcha, ill keep it off then as i rarely use maps anyways.

Regarding the new Bedtime feature in the Clock app that was introduced in iOs 10, Do you think having it enabled uses up more battery as well or is it just a built in process?

I think it's just a simple calculation that's made once and then not tracked in real time. Like "travel time" in the calendar app. It's just calculated once based on the maps position and then doesn't keep tracking it. Impact on battery should be minimal to zero.

Iphone 7 regular size, brightness at 50% or below most of time but no power saving mode - seems great - had it in airplane mode most of time which may have helped too

Most amazing battery day yet. Lighter usage day - that's central to these great results. End of day 30% left. Wow! Now THIS is a battery!

What model is this? Y'all need to include what model you have.

Edit: Just saw your sig, sorry. But others who don't include their arsenal in their sig do need to mention what model they have.

I got a 256g iPhone 7 plus. Today I am installing apps and redownloading my muscis. Took about an hr and half to finish all the download, used about ~40% battery. Is this normal? I feel like that's a bit too much battery used..

Would you guys consider a 5% battery drop while leaving the phone unplugged over night alright? It says 19 min usage but I didn't use it at all.

I upgraded from a 6 Plus 64gb to the 7 Plus 128GB Matte Black.

My battery life has been awful. I have tried everything. Restoring as new Iphone, shutting down practically everything (location, background etc...).

Here are some recent battery usage png's

Just this morning, I was down to 28% in just over 5 hours! Minimal usage.
