4.7" iphone 7 128gb jet black on t-mobile.

battery life is on par with my previous iphone 6. however, i did discover an iOS 10 bug with nsurlsessiond and proxy auto-config file if used to block iAds, that may drain your battery.

EDIT for more info: never used low power mode or airplane mode. bluetooth connected to apple watch. icloud enabled for drive/contact/calendars/reminders/notes/news/wallet/findmyiphone. location services enabled for: find my iphone, location-based suggestions, motion calib/distance, wifi calling. Siri enabled. Raise to wake enabled. Auto-brightness set. Everything in Accessibility is default (reduce motion off, 3d touch on, vibration on, etc.). Handoff enabled. Spotlight search, everything enabled. Home button level 2 setting. Background app refresh enabled for a half dozen apps. Basically, nothing unusual.

I went from a 6 Plus 64gb to a 7 Plus 128gb and I've never had such long battery time. The first week I was going until midnight. It seems that I'm not lasting that long now... not sure if I'm just using the phone more or what.

Most amazing battery day yet. Lighter usage day - that's central to these great results. End of day 30% left. Wow! Now THIS is a battery!

These stats look excellent, im noticing an improved battery life as well after turning off some of the critical battery hogs,

I have a question, i just came across this thread https://forums.macrumors.com/thread...-should-i-leave-it-on-or-turn-it-off.1308618/

the guy in that thread claims that if "cell network search" under the system services menu is turned off battery life is improved HOWEVER the cell signal strength decreases, im pretty sure he's wrong about this, right?

He's 100% wrong. All that button does is allow for people in places between towers to have a mechanism to choose between a weaker signal and a stronger one. 99.8% of users should keep that switch off. It's a battery hog.

Can you elaborate on that please? What do you mean by mechanism? as in, the iPhone that has that enabled is sending data to apple regarding what cell tower the iPhone is connected to and whether the signal is good enough and then SENDS out that information to apple to help determain what cell towers OTHER users iPhone's in the area should connect to?

None of the system location settings are "battery hog(s)" since unless location services are completely disabled, the phone is periodically checking the location anyway (using the cellular triangulation location feature as opposed to GPS). All those settings do is tell iOS which system services are allowed to use the location and which can't, which is why they are under the privacy settings since many of those settings can result in your location being sent to Apple's servers. Turning them on/off has a minimal affect on the battery if any.

Most people leave them all on without any affect on battery. Personally I not only leave the default ones on, but also turn on frequent locations and improve maps and haven't seen a negative battery impact.

I was pretty happy with my iPhone 7 Plus battery (especially when not in use, it hardly drains at all), until two days ago.
When I got up in the morning, it was at 86%. Light usage-a little mail, some light apps, music, etc., and 6 hours later I was shocked to see it was at 45%! That seems like quite a drop for little usage. I tried to look at what apps were using the battery but it would not show me, saying it needed to be on battery for a while (it was!).

It seems idle is great, but any significant usage and it isn't any better than previous phones.

I've been doing iPhone battery testing for 9 years my friend. When I speak here, I speak with the authority of having been a beta tester for Apple many years ago and also contribute to several forums on testing topics. Maybe the term "hog" is a little overstated - but anything "unnecessary" to the day to day use of your phone shouldn't be engaged in daily operation.

My tests on several phones have shown a 5-11% drain in battery life over the course of a day with all those switches on. That qualifies as a hog in my book. If not for you.. no worries.

With today's behemoth batteries in the plus phones 5-11% isn't gonna necessarily prevent you from getting through a whole day of use before charger necessary. But I'm rather OCD about my battery life.. so those unnecessary switches will remain off, thank you very much.

No. it simply detects between your phone and the strongest towers closest to you. Most of us aren't on the fringe between two towers where we work or live. So we don't want/need the GPS antenna constantly checking for strongest towers based on position. Not really when we're driving either. It's really a completely useless function for the vast majority of people..

Pretty sure you can look up the exact use of each of these buttons at Apple's website in their technical specifications section.

Pretty sure that's where I learned them from years ago.

My battery life is horrible compared to my 6s Plus. I've done all the battery saving tips I could find. Things I never did on my 6s plus. None of it seems to help. I spend 20 minutes on a break at work reading the news and lose 5-9% battery.
In airplane mode I lose 2% an hour. There's nothing unusual at all when looking at battery usage.
Again, I didn't disable anything on my previous iphone and had great battery life. Others have had the same issue has me and took it into an apple store for testing and were told nothing is wrong.

I would return that phone! There is something terribly wrong. 2% loss in airplane mode if phone is in deep sleep is a major problem. If you're using the phone in airplane mode - well then that can be normal. Make sure Wifi Assist in Settings--> Cellular is also off. Another battery drain AND a data drain most people don't about. Apple almost "criminally" leaves that on by default as if to help the Carriers make more $. Wifi Assist detects if your wifi signal is too weak and will use your data to boost the download speeds. Yikes!!!

I have gobs of data available so i'm ok with leaving it on. It hasn't done much on data usage. And on or off doesn't make any difference on battery life.
I tested my wife's phone as well and it also had the 2% loss in airplane mode.

Cell network search: Apple keeps a database of cell towers and monitors reception in your area based on this option. It’s used to improve products in general and it’s not really a necessary function, so you can disable this feature if you wish not to share cellular tower information with Apple.

[doublepost=1476073329][/doublepost]Here is my battery info

iPhone 7, 128 gb. Running IOS 10.0.1

7 Hr, 18 min of usage
40 hr, 21 min standby

Some areas with weak cell singnal too. The 7 battery is amazing IMO.

Exactly what I stated. And a totally unnecessary potentially battery wasting switch. Turn it off. No one should transmit unneeded data. That takes battery power.

Anyone if know this battery app is legit.

Time since last charge won't show up on my phone.
