Would be great to have facebook built into the OS.
I hate having to log in each time for new apps. It's a bit of a pain to be honest.

Apple's arrogance once again.

This isn't Apple arrogance. It's Fortune 500's, who's got the biggest dick? But more importantly, it's playing one partner off another. Considering the TouchPad was a year away from retail, FB was playing HP and Apple against each other and it bit FB in the butt. Don't expect FB integration in iOS5. You burn a partner and they remember. Honestly I wouldn't be surprised to see a rep from Google on stage touting GPlus integration.

For sure you can say that Bill Gates and Steve Jobs got a lucky break to start. But thirty plus years later, and all of the products they have left behind them...that was not luck. And to simply call Steve Jobs a "lucky guy" is a gross over simplification.

I never said that Steve was simply a lucky guy. I said that they all had some luck to begin with and Gates and Job's matured as they got older. Mark Z hasn't been at for 30 years yet. Read what I posted.

No Apple app will not hurt Facebook at all, it will hurt the Apple customer. Once again, the ego prevails over the customer. But Apple customers don't care anyway. They cheerfully do without common features that all other companies offer.

You have never worked for a Fortune 500, obviously. It always has been and always will be ego over the customer no matter what project or product it is.

Couldn't care less

I realize I'm probably one of the few people on the planet that doesn't give two ***** about FB, but if Apple wants to integrate it in the new OS, as long as they give me the ability to shut it off completely, I'll be a happy camper.

Not knocking those who love FB, but my life will be no less meaningful if I don't have that stupid "f" icon on my iPhone or iPad.

I did.

The whole point is that Mark is a juvenile when it comes to this.

Mark has relied heavily upon tech titans who have helped him bring Facebook from its nascent days to where it is today.

And the only reason Facebook is still around is because it has critical mass. Mark could pretty much do anything right now and they would still keep on tracking up. None of that has to do with his skills.

Again, all this exchange shows is that Mark is sloppy. When Facebook goes public or gets a proper CEO...Mark will not be there for very long.

Which could go back to your original quote. Perhaps Mark needs to get fired so that he can have his "Steve Jobs" rebirth. The guy wants so badly to be Steve Jobs as it is....

If HP worked with Facebook for their FB app then someone failed miserably, it wasn't until FB "reset" all the privacy settings that the FB app on the TouchPad became useful again.

1. Please don't integrate F***book with iOS.
2. Surely, the iPad is fast enough to run facebook on it's browser by now. Is it the NO FLASH thing. GEEEEZEEE.

This won't be the straw that breaks the camels back but if it does happen it will be a mighty big straw, more like a tree. Just my opinion. I know most people like F***book, I don't. And I don't like little icons popping up everywhere asking me to go to facebook or favorite this or plus one that. Screw these sites, if I want to go there, I will. I know how to get to facebook.

The app is good for things like uploading pictures, and if you hate Facebook we don't need to hear your opinion b/c it's pointless

Mark is already giving his money away. He gave Newark public schools $100 million and has signed on with Gate' and Buffet's Giving Pledge. Not bad for a 26 year old.

Yeah, what a guy...

He screwed over his college buddies, stole their ideas, thn fell ass backwards into billions on paper, and through it all, this little dweeb barely broke a sweat.

The $100 million was given to NJ schools when that movie came out that made him look like an *******. What has he publically given since then?

Signed on with Gates and Buffett's giving plan? At least those guys worked for their money and earned it over a lifetime of achievement.

If I had billions on paper that I fell into like winning the MegaMillions Lottery, I'd be inclined to give some it away, too, especially if it was money paid to improve my negative public image. What a saint I would be then. :)

Sounds like that douchebag american UN representative who was (is?) always kicking and screaming in the assembly about how USA should get special treatment simply because it's the USA

Not sure whom you're talking about, but I doubt he's a douchebag. He could be asking for special treatment because we pay the most for everything the UN wants to do. When they're thinking about making some military move or helping some country, they don't ask Great Britain or Canada. Without the US there is no UN. That's why we should get special treatment.

iOS doesn't need Facebook for it to grow, but Facebook needs iOS.
What game are they trying to play? Apple will be fine whether or not Facebook can actually make an App. (which they apparently can't).

The third parties are doing a hell of a much better job creating apps to access Facebook at this point.

LoL, you think? Facebook was doing just fine without ios and continues to do just fine without it. More people have non ios devices than have them so your point is silly.

I find it funny that stevie was "livid". Like a 3 year old that doesn't get his way. Of course he wants apple to be the only one that FB deals with? Sounds like HP got the better of ol stevie! Of course stevie had the last laugh but he still got "livid". I know, I know let the negatives start adding up..... how dare any one say anything ill of good ol stevie boy.

Oh you kids, kiss and make up.

No Facebook app on the worlds best tablet makes no sense.

Expect this to be solved very soon.

Silly, really, but I never missed it...

I'm sure Steve was being selfish about this when he was peeved, but you can't help but wonder if he thought "You moronic punk billionaire who's worth more money than me, you're siding with a company that hasn't sold one device instead of getting with the Prom Queen who's sold millions of these mo-fo's?!"

I'm sure he was dumbfounded that FB's energies and cooperations were going to be squandered on crap when it should be aligned with the biggest friggin' company in the world. And rightly thus!

Mark Zuckerberg gets hot under the collar over your privacy issues and sweats
Zuckerberg rambles on during video excerpts from the interview, watch the young CEO collapse under intense questioning and sweat over your privacy issues ?

HILARIOUS VIDEO LINK

HOODIE!!!

Yea, you're right. The:rolleyes: $100 million gift was nothing. He's a bum. He should be more generous like Steve and Apple.

He's talking about the general US mentality of every thing we do is the way it should and will be done and damn the rest of the world if they don't like it.

This is our mentality and has been our mentality from day one. From the "don't mess with Texas" attitude to attacking a country that never attacked us, we do what we want, when we want, and don't care what others think. That's why the US is now the laughing stock of the modern world and why a lot of other people around the world just don't respect us any more.

This is coming from a Veteran with deployments to Iraq, and 6 years of honorable Army service.

I'm quite sure that Apple will integrate Facebook into iOS. I don't need it, but in my opinion an integration of google+ would be the better idea (if they think long-term)..
