Not true. Huawei still sells tons of phones in the US via Amazon and other online shops:

Goes both ways. Apple copying dual rear camera was not cheap either.R&D? That's one way to put it. Copying Apple ain't cheap. The notch IS expensive.
Copying pays off, only Xiaomi does it better, and cheap sells.

Interesting as this fake news comes up in the day that Apple releases their quarterly earnings.
If Huawei is selling that many phones, where is the money of the said sales?
Yeah, BS, try again next time, IDC.
A couple of scrappy resellers on Amazon selling products with no warranty.
vs.
Vodafone UK and Bell Canada selling the Huawei P20 Pro on a 2-year term.
There's a huge difference.
The fact that Huawei climbed to #2 in spite of the ban in the U.S. on Huawei phones is impressive.
Chinese companies typically don't have as high of margins as Apple.
It does, just only when Apple needs to boast. If they don't have the numbers they need, like anyone else does, they manipulate the message to make the numbers sing.Quantity doesn't matter!
I wrote off Huawei when the US banned sales. Sorry but, Buh bye.
Personally I wouldn’t want a cheap iPhone knock off, I like the real deal full experience. Huawei UI is severely lacking. Puhleez mention the elephant in the room.
If I was going to go android again I would go back to Samsung.
IMO I’d rather support South Korea and not China.

Well duh. How on earth can our products compete in markets that tariff the crap out of American goods? The same iPhone 8 64GB sells for 790$US in China vs $699 in the US.

Huawei and others sell in South America where Apple products are super expensive. While I am not dismissing that I am impressed by Huawei growth, i seems eventually iPhone will marketshare will slide similar to the Mac platform (as someone else mentioned prior).
Has someone stated otherwise?Looool, Nice try, truth is Apple is the most valuable company in the world, not Huawei or Samsung.

Huawei is succeeding because they're also building 4G and 5G networks in areas where they're selling smartphones. Their strategy is to come top down.
Apple is moving bottom up from the device level.
Sooner or later, we'll end up with a duopoly with Huawei in control of infrastructure + devices and Apple in control of devices. It'll be interesting to see who wins the battle in the long run.
Buying iPhone you do support China. iPhone is made in China (an not just assembled, many components are made in China too). So, to avoid supporting China, perhaps you need to switch to Samsung phones.
I don't think Apple copied it. They just implemented it as an inevitable evolution of the smartphone camera.
True, but it spends R&D on businesses that have nothing to do with cell phone ecosystem like telcomm equipment. Just like Samsung has a huge R&D budget across the company, including washing machine R&D.This is just ignorant. Huawei actually spends 1.5 times more on R&D than Apple ($15B vs $10B).
