And this is the company that makes "great phones" and is "no different" than Apple with iOS.

I wouldn't put a device made my Huawei in my home or even trust them with my name.

I let Huawei house sit once, and when I got home my one of the spoons in my spoon collection was missing. And one time I let Huawei babysit my kid, and when I came home she was missing a tooth but somehow had an extra toe.

They can’t be trusted.

This happens a lot throughout the tech industry, actually.
Even Apple is doing it. Every product category they're in hasn't been invented by Apple. They also looked at products and copied the principals to make it better. Same what Huawei, Samsung and all the tech companies do. Look at good examples and trie to make it even better.

Huawei went from a follower to a leader. Apple copied many things like dual camera, Oled and much more from other companies already delivering that.

You should look into the differences between licensing tech and stealing tech. Unless you're suggesting Apple outright stole OLED and dual-cameras or that Huawei obtained their secrets legitimately from Apple.

Strange that they don't just disassemble an Apple Watch to find out what they need. Plus, they can manufacture their own hinge so why go to someone else. Makes you wonder what's true and what's propaganda considering the Matebook X Pro is allowed in the US and is very popular.

The notebook is a dying product.

While you are agreeing with me, your post is not what I said.

There is a big difference between seeing something on sale or announced and copying it from publicly available information, and doing what is alleged here, which is trying to get suppliers and employees to break confidentiality obligations to reveal NON-public information about products.

I'm not against protectionism but from a customer point of view when a company is overly profitable with extravagant spaceship building and crack lifestyle I welcome lower cost competition. In the end, the world including governments are driven by money first. I wouldn't be surprised someone is getting kickbacks in one hand from protectionism and tariffs in the other hand.

People go Huawei because it offers so much more value for money and went from a follower to a leader. This film just clarifies it very well.

Well you get what you pay for. Everyone has to make their own buying decisions, but if you are willing to give up all of your personal information to a company for cheaper costs - go for it. Myself, along with a lot of other people though, can see the value in purchasing products that protect your privacy, not exploit it.

“Crack lifestyle?”

“Extravagant spaceship building?”

Sure. You’ve obviously never seen the actual building.

I don't agree. Most notebooks are evolving with retractable touchscreens to make it also a tablet.
Stop living your pipe dream. Apple sold more iPads alone compared to the next 5 manufacturers sold laptops combined.

How is this even valid point in this discussion? Are people using iPads as a laptop with iOS 12 as an operating system?

He/she mentioned laptops as a dying category. More people are buying iPad's today, so you can't really use an iPad as a laptop, but you can use it instead of a laptop, which people are doing.

Honestly not surprised. If memory services me Huawei effectively was banned from selling their phones in the USA due to some of the stealing and security concerns on 5G tech. The FCC basically told the carriers not to offer their phones.

Is there corruption in the USA? Sure. But it’s nowhere near the corruption you see in nations like China and India. In America, movie stars get home arrest instead of jail time. In China, wealthy citizens can hire lookalikes to serve their prison sentences. In India, you can bribe the cop giving you a ticket. If he refuses your bribe (which will rarely ever happen), you can bribe the court clerk. It’s worse than you can imagine.
