Which ones, be specific.

And then let's discuss the "great ideas" that other vendors have stolen as well.

We can rehash the entirety of the last few years of who copied who.
No thank you. Apple came out with the iPhone in 2007 and by that it was a leader. Others copied the ideas and were followers. Today Apple is following others because they came up first with better ideas, like Huawei did with dual cameras. Wait to see what will get introduced at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona this spring and you will see that Apple has become a follower instead of a leader.

The multiple camera lens that is now on most phones? That's like saying the wifi chip or headphone jack was copied. But ok, to your point, let's wait until MVC. Apple then has 6 months to retool it's entire 2019 product lineup to copy implement some of the great ideas presented there.

You haven’t watched the link I guess. Apple is making 64% of profits on an iPhone. Talking about stealing...
Have you ever used an highend phone from another brand? You’ll notice that most high end phones are quality built these days and compared to the iPhone costing a fraction of the price.

What are they stealing? Component costs are only one aspect when it comes to creating a product, there is also research and development, logistics, marketing, and more. Apple typically makes about a 30-40% margin across their product lines. Yes I’ve used high end phones from Android manufacturers, some are the same cost of an iPhone, some are less. They need to be priced this way if they want to have any shot of selling against Apple. They go for market share instead of profits since they can make it up monetizing user data. I see this comprehension issue you have carries over to business sense also.

They're such an absolutely disgusting company that should never be allowed to sell products in this country. Xiaomi and all the other Chinese OEMs are right behind them too. I understand wanting to save some money on a device, but I'll never understand buying one of those products to give up essentially all your privacy and supporting horrible practices.

This. Plus it would be nice if U.S. tech sites would (voluntarily) stop reviewing Hauwei's devices. First of all most of them are not even in the mainstream U.S. retail chain, and the only way to obtain them is going through some 3rd party reseller on Amazon.

Still.. *commie* China enjoys a permanent MFN status.

Let'em in. It's (and shall remain to be) business as usual. :)

At the pace Apple is copying developing, it will probably be somewhere in 2020. But time will tell. I’ll remember you on this by then :D

Two wrongs don't make a right. In the free world, steeling is wrong and if you're caught steeling, you pay the price. But in the not so free world, you might not pay the price. This is the crux. Let's not make it a race thing.

You haven’t watched the link either but seeing a red flag because I’m criticizing Apple

I haven't watched the link because it doesn't care for my popup blockers and I'm not going to disable them. Thus, my question.

It has nothing to do with you criticizing Apple. In fact, this thread has very little to do with Apple. This thread is about the crimes Huawei is being accused of by the Justice Department. Why you're dragging Apple into this in the first place is beyond me.

Huawei's Efforts to Steal Apple Trade Secrets Include Employee Bonus Program and Other Dubious Tactics

They're just following the wise words of Steve Jobs

"Picasso had a saying -- 'good artists copy; great artists steal' -- and we have always been shameless about stealing great ideas."

1) you’re not the first person to post this quote
2) you are improperly conflating foreign industrial espionage via trying to get people to reveal trade secrets, a violation of the law, with taking inspiration from publicly released information

This has happened in business from the very beginning. Not just Chinese companies.

So that makes it ok?? Huawei is a Chinese government
Even Apple is doing it. Every product category they're in hasn't been invented by Apple. They also looked at products and copied the principals to make it better. Same what Huawei, Samsung and all the tech companies do. Look at good examples and trie to make it even better.

Huawei went from a follower to a leader. Apple copied many things like dual camera, Oled and much more from other companies already delivering that.
ok so the laugh meter is about a 10 on that statement.

What a joke. Gotta love the trollers who pretend they’re Apple fans, but trash them at
Every chance they get. Even when this article is about a shady Chinese government funded company like Huawei.

Given what’s going on in the world, and given that I can’t imagine macrumors has the resources to care, I generally assume a lot of these are paid or government employees, posting to try and influence the market or the voters.

I have seen many product companies that steal ideas from others. Samsung does it with Apple to some extent and vise versa. Other companies steal from Apple and Samsung as well. I can understand why, Apple and Samsun both have some great technologies and innovations to offer. The ethics behind a business that does this is terrible.

Tech companies should be driving innovation and new technologies, not copycatting the ones already out there. To reward those that steal and to put their own employees at legal risk in order to get ahead in business. That is a shady practice. Unfortunately, that is how alot of Chinese businesses work, NOT ALL, but alot. It all comes down to integrity and ethics once you loose those 2 qualities you're just that "Other Company" that soon fizzles out. The laws that regulate their business are not like ours in the states, which is unfortunate. I dont buy their products nor support their business ethics.
