No USB-C
No 120hz Display
No AptX-HD or LDAC High Res Audio codec support
No Dual Bluetooth Pairing
No WiFi 6 (just kidding I hope they have WiFi 6) MacBooks Dont but that’s a whole other rant.

I’ll just go but a Note 20 Ultra. (That’s an iPhone 13 Pro Max from 2022 Today it’s like an iPhone just Samsung tech hasn’t trickled down yet)

I am ashamed of Apple. Apple need to innovate

Then good bye and don’t let the door hit you on the way out. Apt X would be cool BUT that’s a Qualcomm tech and there’s 0% chance that would happen. LDAC maybe but that’s Sony.

A fanboy attitude to tell someone dont let the door hit them. Very sad to see. People are allowed to buy what they want and discuss it. This isnt the Apple butt kissing forum; people can have opinions.

I would consider faceID pretty innovative compared to Android face unlock.

It is. Yet not worth the design cost (big notch) anymore IMO, and with masks (which will be around with us for a long time to come at this pace in the US) it doesnt work; you have to use a PIN anyway. So any benefit of easy access is negated.

There's no reason a phone couldnt have both 🤷‍♂️ It's $1000+ here for "Pro" models

Fanboy? I have owned android and Apple devices . I don’t mind either but to suggest that Apple cares if you leave because of that list you’re mistaken. They don’t

That depends on how often you’re wearing the mask. For example there are people who work in hospitals who have to wear a mask all the time yes it’s inconvenient, but to those of us who just make grocery store runs or maybe go on short walks it’s not really that severe. Granted there are other different use case scenarios. Having to wear a mask doesn’t take away from the fact that face ID is still innovative. And as far as the notch goes, it never really bothered me but there are those who are annoyed by it and if it bothers him that much then iPhone may not be for them.

Except that you understand you aren't support to move your mask down indoors or touch it in terms of proper procedure.

Even 1 second pulled down is enough for someone to sneeze or cough spreading droplets. Minor chance, sure (if you trust peoples' intelligence which has proven wrong every day so far), but then the outside surface is where any "bad" particles attach then get on your hands and you rub your eyes etc defeating any protection.

And yes, it goes to PIN. So we mine as well have no notch and go back to slide to unlock with PIN then too as a counter-argument

Apple releases products that and when they know we could use them. They make up their own releases of trends because they believe the superior of their products are what everybody wants. When they finally release them not only does it out stand other competition for the same factor but they deliver it with what we know and love best which is coming from Apple

A little patience with Apple is best 😉

I think you misunderstood me, I didn’t mean that when you’re wearing the mask it’s cool to pull it down to do face ID what I meant was use the pin unlock when you can’t take your mask off and when you can take your mask off use Face ID. Most people don’t have to wear a mask the entire day so in those moments of inconvenience are fairly small again though there are different use case scenarios

Right but then we're back at mine as well have no notch and slide to unlock with PIN. Same difference really.

Biometrics arent more "secure" when they default to a PIN, its for ease of access. Anything that defaults back to a PIN is still just a PIN protecting it as last line of defense.

If it only works part of the time and no other options its not convenient. It would be like saying your car only starts half of the times without pulling and putting back in a fuse. Sure it works, and its not "hard," but it isnt a fun time or what you paid for in terms of experience.

The answer here is to offer a different variant of the device, or both biometric options on one device (Huawei did it with IR scanning and in-display fingerprint).

I couldn’t care less about the screen refresh rate on my phone.
I really don’t get why people on here see it as a massive dealbreaker feature, 60hz is more than smooth enough for me.
Because a lot on MR people need something to complain about. 120 refresh rate on a phone isn’t even going to be really noticeable or practical. It is being used to sell more phones for people (like the OP) who have convinced themselves, that they can’t have a decent and worthy phone without it, which is just plain illogical.

It doesn’t matter what the average user thinks. It’s what the OP thinks. If you’ve used any other phone with 120hz you would have been really looking forward to it on this year’s model. It’s really that good.

My take on it is that Apple may wait until this tech is mature enough to not take a big hit on the battery. Like what happened with oled screens (regarding their reliability / quality).

I respectfully disagree. Once the OP posted this on a public forum it became free reign for any member to talk about.

I don’t expect every iPhone 12 SKU to use a high end 6.8” 120hz OLED 2K Display but I do expect the highest end 12 Pro Max 5G iPhone to have a 120hz Display.

As I was reading the latest Rumors on MacRumors it’s been all but leaked and confirmed that NO iPhone 12 model will have 120hz Display.

Thats A deal breaker.
How can they do this.? When Razer, Samsung, HTC, Asus, Lenovo, Sony and more all have phones with 120hz displays and if you have ever use one there’s no going backwards.

They may have had no choice. They probably lost the bidding war for 120hz display production this time.

Great but if he’s posting his opinion, disagreeing with him isn’t going to suddenly make him forget how great 120hz is.

I see what you did there.

First off, it’s his opinion that 120Hz is “great” (and yours as well, apparently).

Next, his post does not a truth for everyone make.

And finally, like I said, this is a public forum. It would be a dull world if we all agreed with each other.

iPhone 11 Pro's have Wifi 6. I dont know about the 11 but I assume it does too.
- 802.11ax Wi‑Fi 6 with 2x2 MIMO

As for "Dual Pairing" I assume you mean multipoint? If so, they support BT5 so its there hardware wise and its definitely coming with iOS 14 for the airpods, im sure it'll be available for other bt5 headphones. Hell the XM4's on iOS 13 can do multipoint right now cause of BT5

Why don’t they give us the option to activate it? According to reliable leakers, the Pro models will ship with capable 120hz panels, but it will be disabled in software.

I think they should ship the iPhone with a 60hz display, so people no interested in 120hz will not care about worst battery life. But they should give us the option to activate it in the Settings app.

I’m so glad I don’t subscribe to the Pro club and can enjoy a high end experience without parting with £1k+ of my cash lol. Is my iPhone 12 without 120hz going to be a poor experience? Absolutely not. We’ve had 12 months nearly of iPhone 11 owners reporting how awesome their phone is and it’s not had this refresh rate that has suddenly become a must-have feature for some. When these phones arrive this will be forgotten in the grand scheme and if it comes in the future then great. Apple rarely release hardware that is current and have always been a few years behind the competition, people forever that. It’s iOS that delivers a smooth experience and I’m sure we’ll all be happy come October.
