massively proven false dozens of times, but clearly you dont care.
Let me help you out. Here are the rules from Twitters site

So when the riots were happening people were threating violence. Against the rules. Where those people banned?
Trump was rightly banned for the same thing.
This is not a hard concept. if you have rules they must be applied equally.

Haven't seen it mentioned that Steve Jobs also sacked 4100 employees when he took Apple back over in '97.

What part was proven false? that Twitter employees did not apply Twitters stated rules equally? that has not been proven false.
I am not saying free speech. I am saying that they did not apply the rules equally for everyone on the platform. Which they did not.
If one side is literally lying and spreading misinformation much more than another side(and yes multiple studies found that right wing leaning user and media were sharing MASSIVLEY more false and misleading info) then they ill be acted on more. Even more so when that's often the side trying to imply that violence is a proper solution to arguments.

"Authors of the study followed 9,000 politically engaged Twitter users, half Democratic and half Republican, in October 2020. The authors continued keeping track of their Twitter habits for six months after the 2020 election.

The study did find a disparity between how many users from each party were suspended — 7.7% of the Democrats compared to 35.6% of Republicans.

Republicans on Twitter, however, “shared substantially more news from misinformation,” the study found."

The bias wasn't left/right due to politics, it was that the Right simply spread more lies. Stop lying and they would get banned less... easy solution they seemingly want to ignore. Same issue the Right took with Google search results. They do things most people(western world has a left lean, thats just a fact) don't like and they get negative headlines, but were confused by that and blamed Googles algorithm instead of just thinking "hmm maybe I should do LESS things that people don't like...or do MORE things people DO like to balance it out..." They seem to only want to ever see NICE stories, not ACCURATE stories if you google them.

Apple was already weeks/months away from going under at that point. He was trying to save a sinking ship that was nearly sunk.

I bet the ones that stay, work hard and excel will get VERY RICH

I know - something hard to understand for those who are offended when it rains

And, who try to crap on everyone else’s success
No, no and no.
That’s for bosses and entrepreneurs, you work hard you might get rich.
For workers, if you think that way, you are looking for a universal transformation to work 12+ hours a day with out pay increases.

Just like China

Hundreds of Twitter employees today resigned from the company rather than opting in to be part of "Twitter 2.0" under Elon Musk, according to The Verge. Musk earlier this week told workers that Twitter will be "extremely hardcore" going forward, with employees expected to put in long hours at high intensity. "Only exceptional performance will constitute a passing grade," he said.

Musk on Wednesday sent out a Google form and asked employees to respond "Yes" by 5:00 p.m. Eastern Time on Thursday if they wanted to stay at the company. Hundreds decided not to, and have said their goodbyes in Slack and on Twitter. Departing employees will receive a severance package.

When he took over Twitter, Musk laid off approximately half of the 7,500 employees that were at the company at the time, and since then, he has continued firing employees who have been critical of him, including longtime engineers.

Twitter employees that spoke to The Verge said that given the number of people that have left, Twitter could "start breaking soon" and that it will be "extremely hard for Twitter to recover."

With the exodus of employees, Twitter temporarily closed all office buildings and suspended badge access. According to Zoë Schiffer, Musk and his team are "terrified employees are going to sabotage the company."

In the final hours ahead of the deadline, Musk reportedly attempted to convince employees to stay. Bloomberg says that key staff were brought into meetings and Musk also walked back his in-office work demands. He had said that all employees needed to work from the office 40 hours a week, but today he said that working from home was allowed with monthly in-person meetings and managerial approval.

At the current time, Musk's first initiative is on pause as Twitter makes changes. Last week, Twitter introduced a more expensive $8 version of Twitter Blue that included a verification badge, and it turned out that debuting widespread verification led to account impersonation that impacted numerous companies.

Hey Elon, this ain’t rocket science!

(No particular meaning to that, just had to say it). :)

I wonder why people don't want to work in "hardcore" mode for an idiot... I really hope the whole thing collapses and Musk just goes down with the ship that everyone else escaped from in time.

Everyone loves it when some billionare takes over your company and starts giving out random threats and ultimatums and firing people. Just give me a normal job where I'm valued for the work I do and not for the loyalty to a mini dictator who just showed up.

I have a hard time imagining that a company rebuilt by the select few people who tolerate this crap will be a successful one.

I don’t agree — some people may stay because they believe in the product, and others may stay because they believe in their leader. The ones with less talent and marketable skills will eventually get worked out of the system.
It will definitely weed out the bad ones. I just hope no one good got laid off just because they weren't a buttkissing braggart who manipulated others to do their stuff and always took the credit. The best workers to me are the ones who keep things moving and no one ever knows. But they are the most unappreciated too :(

You can cope and just leave Twitter if you don’t like it that much.

Lots of people are mad that Twitter can’t source to some shady third party fact checking company, which was wrong often, and instead do something that makes sense, community notes.

I guess Elon, Michael Burry, Snowden, are all evil, scary, lying right wingers just like me.

I don't think anyone would say Steve Jobs was a nice human being. Beyond that, I have never seen any indications he fired them illegally (as Twitter did according to California laws) and Apple was in a far, far worse financial situation. More to the point, I've never read any history of Apple where he basically fired anyone who disagreed with him and who knew what was going on at the company.

Musk and many like him want to pretend they are Steve Jobs. They are not, except in perhaps the worst ways.

Everyone seems to think Musk has lost his mind. Let's keep in mind that this guy has led PayPal, Tesla, Starlink and others and has the yet-to-be things like Boring and Neural-something-or-other. He seems to find great people to execute on his ideas and I think he's doing that with Twitter now. I think in two years Twitter gets it's **** together and becomes more than it ever was.
Some people seem to be able to manipulate the minds of people around them at scale which allows them to fail upward. It’s a crazy quality, but on full display. For instance. Tesla’s are immensely boring and unattractive by car standards, the Truck he showed is horrific far beyond the scale of an Aztec which I never thought could be possible. I’ve seen designs by 9 year olds that were better. But he has people clamoring for that thing and laughs all the way to be bank. Small businesses barely pay themselves to keep from going under and this guy was crowned a Billionaire while his companies were loosing billions in venture capital investments.

Community Notes was never intended for that, and its VERY bias.

Are you implying that, objectively, he has handled this entire deal (from the inception of it, through the lawsuit, through the forced sale, to the post-buy behavior) in a way that any reputable business expert would praise?

No, I'm saying it's funny how so many people here so confidently proclaim that the richest person on the planet who is a successful CEO/etc. of multiple companies doesn't know what he's doing, is a disaster, etc. I'm just wondering why their names aren't on the Forbes' list is all. Does that mean every move he makes is perfect? Of course not, but it does mean he's a much better business person/visionary than probably everyone on this forum, whether you like him on a personal level or not (personally, I'm pretty apathetic towards him).

Hey…I thought Twitter was supposed to be broken last night since “all the critical teams” left.

It’s almost as if, the news has an agenda and is lying. (or they have no idea how to run a company)

The app hasn’t changed in 10 years. All they have been doing is ‘scaling’, goofing off, and working an hour a day from home - like most tech companies with this policy.

When did 40 hours a week in office become EXTREMELY HARDCORE?
That was the back track. That wasn’t his initial statement. In fact he was very vague about it. Tesla folks complain about much longer hours, off the record because they don’t want to get canned.

But Elon is a super genius mad scientist do-it-all kind of guy that invents his way out of any conundrum.

Anyone who complains about anything he does is just mad that they aren’t as rich and forward thinking.

He just comes up with stuff and then it’s done.

Neuralink, Twitter 2.0, hyperloop, cybertruck, people on Mars by 2030.

Elon just never fails at anything.
