You made me laugh, and look this is all subjective but I agree, one look at the cybertruck and I am amazed at the presales, I'm not even certain what you mean by "beyond the scale of an Aztec" but I find it hilarious, the apes at the beginning of the movie, "2001" could have designed a more attractive truck.

With $44B, Musk could’ve paid off the US national debt, essentially ‘owning’ America, or at least Congress.
Scary to think what Musk could do to/with America at his beck and call.
Instead, he bought out Twitter which he’s slowly destroying.
May do it by Dec. if he wants a tax write off.

Funny you should mention South Korea, because they were a dirt poor agricultural society post split and their industrialization happened artificially with US money, which as you might have learned during black history week, is quite firmly the result of colonialism.

The way I see it, if there is a compelling incentive to be "hardcore", they will be. Asking people to put extra hours for no incentive, who'd do it? Nobody shares the same vision as Elon, and nobody gives a **** if he turns the company around and make the company more profitable.

Most people in the company cares about how much he or she makes and for what. If they are all hourly paid and putting extra hours meant more money, I bet more people would gave it a thought and decided to stay.

If you are engineers at twitter, you are pretty qualified already and can find another jobs at different tech company. Twitter is not the only company and you are not that desperate..

If it's that desparate, sure.. Elon's **** show may work.. But it's not that terrible for tech engineers atm..

He didn’t make any of that stuff. Does he make it via osmosis? You get credit for making something just because you’re the CEO? What about the efforts of other people?

Same message this year (Bankruptcy), different company but again, you need to work super hard for Twitter 2.0, because I bought the company, and borrowed the money for it instead of selling another 13 Billion in stock, and the company really doesn't have the cash flow to pay the note I took out, so I decided to make the advertisers mad and implemented a feature (Cool blue Check), that costs me $12 in revenue per person using it per month. Yeah ELON!!!

The math is correct. It’s called the Pareto principle.

Only around 100 people at Twitter are overachievers, who makes the biggest impact on the company. The rest are interchangeable and replaceable.

Why would the US government bail out a private company with about 700 employees?


The people who moderated the content on Twitter have gone, meaning there won't be any moderation. The result of that is that there will be more hate speech, fake news and misinformation, not less. You really think the moderators were sitting there allowing everything through?

Musk has shown in the last three weeks that he is an absolute idiot, and unfit to run any company the way he does. He's taken a great company and destroyed it.

but he probably doesn’t expect morale to be high. That’s the problem, very few of the people here actually work for Twitter. MacRumors morale is irrelevant. It’s his company, he can do what he wants. If he runs the company into the ground that’s on him. These people aren’t going to be homeless. Twitter is not the only place in the world to work. Not only that, it seems most are getting an arguably fair severance. Everyone needs to calm down. Especially consider it doesn’t involve them. Except for the ones it does.

It means the rest are replaceable and just a number.

It’s a distribution curve, right? Not just a horizontal line and then a cliff. So, it would be wise to constantly trim from the bottom and replenish from the top. So, the goal is to beat the odds and retain a highly effective team.

Honestly, I'd like to see another company, like Automattic (parent company of WordPress) take it over, in a partnership with a network of nonprofit public media outlets (NPR, PBS, CBC, Chicago Public Media, ARD, BBC, Philadelphia Inquirer, etc.).

Automattic have the tech skills to make things work at scale, and having it overseen by public media keeps it transparent and accountable, and provides infrastructure for fact-checking when needed.

It's clear that Twitter is something closer to global essential infrastructure for communications, business, and small-d democracy, and it shouldn't be in the hands of people who may, intentionally or not, ruin it. We wouldn't give the telephone network to a honey badger, either!

I agrees the easy offended and leaving twitter and that includes the one who work at Twitter. Twitter will just become a better place in the long run. Get rid of the trash first. :)

The current national debt is about $31 trillion dollars. Elon's $44 billion would reduce that to.... $30,956,000,000,000. :p
