Just looking at it I feel like every time you insert/remove a USB stick you will screw up your monitor angles so if it requires 2 hands, one to keep the monitor from moving, that kind of negates the usefulness.
That applies to the stock ports as well. The iMac is just really light and it doesn't take much to move it.

It says it includes every color of faceplate so I wonder if the backside is blank. If so, and the ports are centered, might be able to just flip it.

Maybe I'm biased against Wordmark logos for tech products but IMO in this case the branding really ruins the look of the device.

ah well.

This is the maddening thing about lack of ports on Apple products. The user ends up with ugly, cobbled together solutions to get ports that any other computer has by default. And at additional cost.
I’m sure Apple knows how often the average user uses their ports.

I had a mini with an LED Cinema Display and only ever used 2; 1 for the Time Machine HDD and one for the keyboard. And now I’d have a BT keyboard.

Given up on my patent to nail the new mac to the table, someone already invented nails and wants a cut.

Wonder if I can get a rubber mat to match the colour and use that to stop it spinning every time I try to plug something in?

(nah, I have a long USB lead and plug up extra's to the hub, not the mac).

You haven't seen a 24" iMac lately, huh? Yes, iMacs had plenty of ports for "like a decade"...but no longer.
I have an M1 iMac sitting on my desk, and I had an iMac 5K before that, thanks for asking.

Here's the back of the 5K. If you spec the Ethernet port when you buy the M1, on anything above the most basic model, you lose two USB ports and the SD slot. Net loss: two USB ports and one SD card slot. A little annoying for some, but calling it "crippled" is absurd.

You can't say the M1 iMac has 2 USB A ports just because it has 4 USB C ports.

So you have a new 24" iMac with 2 USB-A ports? I have no words.

Useful addition and neat design - but waaaay too expensive.
Hello, you're not Apple - you can't ask for this prices....
I think some of you guys are simply cheapskates. $80 for all this ESTHETICALLY PLEASING connectivity is not expensive.
