People can quit cigarettes and heroin. You can quit Pepsi.

Only 8% of people from U.K. and U.S. who have done meth more than three times have been able to quit.

I know you put heroin and cigarettes but I'm just putting that out there- some people may find quitting something harder than others.

Hey man, don't listen to these "health-nazis" . . . there's nothing wrong with a good caffeine buzz, right? Puts you right with the world, it does. Besides, when it's from a grande triple shot, it's all natural, with no chemical additives. Frankly, it's health food, man.

Now, based on my location, I can put you in touch with some premo, 100% Kona . . . none of that 10% blend crap . . . pure, uncut, city roasted peaberry goodness in a cup. Yeah, you know what I'm talkin' about and you know you want it.

When I stopped caffeine a couple of months ago I developed headaches and felt a little under the weather. It stops after a couple of days.
After 2 weeks of not drinking any caffeine (mostly Coke) I thought I'd try a Coke and bleh - tasted horrible.

After seeing the recent Louis Theroux investigation ep I can definitely see that to be true.

If that's true I have no idea why. (where did you get those numbers, BTW?) It's disgusting stuff made worse by the sorts of people who use and abuse it. I've done it a several times (because there was a purpose for it at the time) and never held any appeal to continue. Bleeeuuugh!

Aaaaanyway...

db, You can do it. Slowly reduce your intake and then set aside a few days of misery, with a side-dish of ibuprofen.

Ahh I love coffees! I usually try and have one once a day. It's the best tasting thing in the world!!

Go cold turkey, battle out the pains hardstyle :D

When I changed from regular coffee to the decaf version I first mixed the two coffees 75:25 then 50:50 then 25:75 then 100% decaf and didn't have any symptoms at all.

Watch out though with your coke. Sugar is very addictive too and if you change to diet or zero watch out for the aspartame side-effects. Sorry!

I have only one vice - my coffee. I really don't drink alcohol, don't smoke and I avoid as much as possible junk food. Given that fact, I don't mind my daily coffee in the morning and my tea throughout the day.

Duke
Been there and have had to wean myself off of coffee every time I came back from sea.
1st week: First what I did was have a normal cup of coffee in the morning.
Then for the second or third cup 8 0z no more.
2nd week: Cut the size of the morning coffee half regular half decaf, second cup normal 8oz, third cup is now a decaf.
3rd you are good to go. you can quit all together or have a cup in the morning.

I don't smoke but I drink toooo much coffee myself.

An effective crash method for me
When I have a couple days off, I get up at early 4am have a coffee, then I keep busy all day and stay up (20 hours) go to bed and when I get up a small coffee and I am weaned.

Just go cold turkey and live with it. It'll be bad for a few days, but drink loads, (like 2 litres) of water a day. That's how I quit smoking. Cutting down didn't help, I never tried patches or gum. I just stopped one day after 5 years, and 5 years later, haven't touched one since. I wont say it wasn't hard, but it is most effective.

I did the same with coffee, like you I had headaches if I didn't drink a coffee, quit cold turkey again and didn't drink one for months. Then one day I had "just one" and I'm now back on it :( Working 12 hour night shifts really doesn't help in not drinking coffee though.

You don't understand. The headaches are SEVERE to the point I can't do much of anything untill I have a cola

Caffeine headaches suck. For me it started a twitch above the eye and get pretty bad. If I did not get my morning coffee at my worse I could not function hell I would get to work and it would be do not talk to me until I got my morning cup of coffee.

As for getting help I would first suggest you get off the cola because that is destroying you teeth very quickly. Diet really is not that much better because it is because cola is a strong acid and that just eats away at your teeth. Switch to something like coffee and just load it up with "foo foo" creamer like international house. At my worse I was drinking close to a pot a coffee a day loaded up with "foo foo" creamer. Now I am down to 1-2 mugs a day. I still like my morning coffee though. I joke with my GF on the fact I like my coffee like I like my women Blond. (My GF is blond so it works)

I decided to try giving up caffeine a few months ago. Wasn't, originally, to be a permanent thing but I felt that bad coming off it I avoid the stuff completely now.

I was having iffy patches sleeping and thought it may be too much caffeine. I never drink coffee, it was only pop: Dr Pepper, Irn Bru, Pepsi etc. And I NEVER get headaches, I'm really lucky that way. Even when I used to drink and get a chronic hangover, my head would be clear. But for the two to three days after stopping I had a really bad migraine. I expected a reaction but nothing like that. It was completely gone after five days. Now I avoid caffeine altogether if that's the effect it has. I was genuinely surprised how crappy I felt.

Now I get less heartburn, more regular/lengthy sleep and feel more energetic oddly (probably because I'm sleeping better).

If it's having such a chronic effect, don't go cold turkey but wean yourself off it instead. Look at how many caffeinated drinks you have a day (and when in the day) and reduce it by one drink every two days or something.

*sips diet coke
Wait, can we post pictures of drugs here?
