Are the leaks true? (Public voting)

Mark gurman and Bloomberg are backing Everthing up now. No head phone jack, dual camera on plus/pro model, haptic home button, looks a lot like 6/s series.

There were also real design leaks of the iPhone SE as well.

The phones that are being sold are not real iPhone 7 production models, so coloring and what not could be wrong, but I believe they are based on the real schematics.

We have a month to go, we always have real solid leaks.

New iPhone designs have been the worst kept secret since...

They were leaked months ahead of the announcement no later than May. It is August now. The only time Apple ever surprised me was when they announced the first iPhone. It was the only time Apple surpassed the renders leading up to it.

The iPhone SE was something that came unexpected because not everyone expected Apple to release an iPhone in March. But I heard about a small iPhone for over a year now. SE was two things for Apple. To cater to the compact phone market. And to guinea pig test using the same design a third time.

5 - slate & silver
5s - replace slate with space gray, add gold
SE - add rose gold

The latter two got a different home button with Touch ID.

I don't get why nobody bats an eye if a MacBook, iPad, and iPod touch look the same for a few years while an iPhone is expected to look different every two years? A double standard for iPhones. Same double standard when SE gets praised when it is a 2012 design but 7 gets criticized because of some stupid rear back that looks like the 6 that usually is covered up with a case.

Then nobody wants to notice the iPhone 7 for water-resistance, wireless charging, dual speakers, and removal of the stupid physical home button that wears out because iOS lacks a back action since some people are too busy whining about the removal of that 3.5mm headphone jack. These insecure, reassurance threads makes me laugh. So shallow and petty. I don't even like Apple but I gotta laugh at their haters and cynics.

The best kept secret goes to the Nintendo NX right now. Nintendo really has kept it under wraps what it looks like. Best is to lower expectations and don't overthink it so we can be surprised. But what we see from these leaks is usually what get. Apple iPhones have generally lacked secrecy since January 2007 which was the only time Apple surpassed our design expectations.

And again there was that whole "teardrop" design thing that remains non-existant to this day.

How is this your argument? It was a rumor ""one"" year. I could see if each year the teardrop rumor reintroduced itself. But it hasn't. So the fact that it has been non-existent 'to this day' is irrelevant at best.

People say things like "every", "always",
and the like, where an example of one time when it didn't hold up is directly applicable. Just because it happened a little while ago doesn't change any of that as far as how it relates to it all. Some people might not like that there was that case of things being completely off as it doesn't fit a nice pattern, but that doesn't change the reality that it did happen nevertheless. And one time is already enough to show that the pattern not only can be broken but has been broken.

Fair enough. I am guilty of that as I did say every year and I was wrong. But I do think that since the teardrop design predict fail, the race to nail the design and specs of the forth coming iPhones has taken off. I cannot say for sure that the leaks are truly accurate, but it seems like the number of folks willing to leak info, and the number wanting that leaked info, has grown exponentially over the years.

i remember two years ago when this asian dude was showing off the iPhone 6 in working condition 1 day before the keynote, there were still people on here who wouldnt believe it "APPLE WOULD NEVER RELEASE AN DEVICE WITH SUCH UGLY ANTENNA BANDS"

It would be really cool if Apple was to pull off a completely different phone, kind of fool everyone, but don't think it will happen. The company and sales have gotten to big. The chances of pulling off a totally secret phone are almost impossible. Last few years the leaks have been spot on, the only difference is most don't want them to be true. Personally I want a new form just so I get the feeling that I bought something new when I spend $800. Call me vain or whatever don't really care. I know the internals are different blah blah blah that only makes me want to buy a new one when this one fails

I just love the double standards.

When iPhone SE came out, people loved it even though it looks exactly the same as iPhone 5s but has a girly rose gold option this time. The iPhone 7 hasn't been released yet, people are now bashing it because it looks too much like iPhone 6 and focuses on the removal of headphone jack while ignoring things like water-resistance, wireless charging, dual stereo speakers, capacitive home button, etc. If not bashing, deny the leaks are real when Tim Cook stated 2016 won't be a highlight year for Apple and we will not see any dramatic "external" changes for iPhone.
Double standards? You DO understand that the people who love the SE are not the same people who are disappointed with the possibility of the 7 being the same as the 6, right?

Apple does not have the resources to make a new looking chassis every two years! It all about $$$$$$$$$$$$ and so they will just up the marketing to compensate for the lack of a new product! After all, nobody hypes stuff better then Apple!

I cannot tell if your first sentence is sarcasm or not. I assume it is given they have $200B+ in cash reserves. They could theoretically purchase Puerto Rico, Oman, Costa Rica, Libya and Tanzania. That said they will do exactly as you say. They will get on stage and repeat the words "really cool", "really awesome", "really great", and "really epic" over and over to rounds of applause just like they do at every unveiling. The phones will fly off of the shelves because 99% of the purchasing population are not like the enthusiasts in this forum.

companies will likely not re-design for a good 2-3 years anyway. Samsung have had this design for two years now.

like someone pointed out we have not been surprised by an iphone design since the iphone 4.... so why would this one be any different? If you are expecting a completely different design and phone then you are in for a huuuuge disappointment on keynote day. Websites and media folks are paying top dollar for these leaks so its too enticing for these guys in the supply chains and factories that make minimum wage.... There's only so much Apple can do to stop these leaks... the only thing we have left is the one killer feature included in each iphone release which is sometimes not leaked. i.e. touch id, 3D touch, facetime, siri.... but even some of those are leaked as well.

Haven't they been doing that so far every 2 years basically?

With the number of leaks and the fact they are lining up with the rumored details, I doubt the leaks are fake (of course some of them are, but there is a general trend). The iPhone SE was a mystery from the very beginning in terms of design, naming, and features. I think the iPhone 7 is pretty much established from multiple sources.

The complete overhaul of internals (including SoC) costs billions of dollars in manufacturing retooling. Don't equate the external of a device for the R&D invested on the inside.

Which factories pay the minimum wage?

Do you really think sites are paying for leaks? For what? 1 nanosecond of fame, and then everyone copy&pastes your expensive "exclusive"?

Wait, how much do you think the factory workers in China are being paid?

You tell me.
[doublepost=1470677039][/doublepost]

Yeah, right...

Have you not seen the various stories about the alleged working conditions in those factories? Just Google "working conditions of iPhone manufacturers" or anything to that effect.

Why do you think iPhones are manufactured in China, with its more lax labour laws, rather than in the USA?

"Alleged", dude, nobody needs clickbait journalism here.

either do you have an actual number, or you just have BS from bloggers.
