For me, TouchID is good enough

Ah, you find the bugHow can you do the first without doing the second?
I like Touch ID. I can turn on my phone without looking at it.
TouchId is so much better than faceId. It’s like magic. With touchId I just place my finger on part of the screen whereas with faceId I need to point my phone camera directly at my face and remove my mask/sunglasses/toothbrush to get it to work, or fumble around with my passcode when it inevitably fails.
Your phone is always pointed directly at your face then? Or does it magically hover into position without having to touch it? 🤔Guess what. Face ID is so much better than Touch ID because I can unlock my iPhone without even touching it. Now THAT'S magic.
I'd imagine if TouchID does make a return to future iPhones it will be in addition to FaceID
I’d like one of the security options to allow me to choose to require both TouchID and FaceID verification. But also the option to use one or the other. Or to turn one of them off, so maybe I require FaceID and TouchID won’t do anything.
I would love to have both options for everyone to choose from, but the problem is a lot of people want Apple to make that choice for them, hence why some members are not exactly receptive to having both forms of biometric authentication on one idevice.Exactly! Why do people always assume you can only have it one way?
When I ask for TouchID back on my phone, I’m not saying I want that instead of FaceID. No, I want TouchID AND FaceID.

I have my phone on a stand at my desk. When I get a notification, the screen lights up and I just look at the screen to see the notifications. If I were on Touch ID, I'd have to reach over and physically touch the button to unlock it.Your phone is always pointed directly at your face then? Don’t really care for AOD since our phones are always on us, or next to us, prefer raise to wake or tap once to wake display, AOD is just another pointless feature like 120hz that will drain the battery quicker. As for unlocking to see notifications, Apple need to get with the game and have always on Display.
Ah, this makes sense. Though can’t you also get notifications on a computer as well, like through iMessage? I haven’t looked at setting those up but in lieu of that, this is not a bad use case while at a desk.I have my phone on a stand at my desk. This is my use case also when I'm at the office and I don't have a Mac there.Ah, this makes sense. Though can’t you also get notifications on a computer as well, like through iMessage? I haven’t looked at setting those up but in lieu of that, this is not a bad use case while at a desk.
Right? Touch ID just seems outdated at this point. There's just something magical about just looking at your screen and it unlocks for you without even touching it.FaceID has never really failed me either - I'm afraid I'm one of those that has no desire for TouchID now that face masks are no longer a requirement.......
