i only like snow when it gets me out of school, today for example. trying to go to a warmer climate for college, let's hope that works out

I live near Yorktown, Virginia. We do not get snow, or even flurries, down here but maybe once every other year. This year, we have had 5 snowfalls, each with measurable snowfall. Last weekend it was about 8 inches and yesterday was another 2 inches. This is very strange for down here, but I'm actually glad we didn't get DC's stuff.

We've had some pretty heavy snows lately (I'm in Vienna, VA) but with the high winds this one can actually be called a "blizzard". Looking outside makes me feel like I'm in the arctic.

10 inches throughout the city from our storm just ended
Schools remained open, businesses too, and even the government
Streets were all plowed within hours
Not a big deal at all

I like the snow. In philly we got 27" late last week and another 15" or so yesterday. It was crazy, but fun. No class Wednesday or Thursday.

We sled down the Rocky steps at the Art Museum, fun thing to do.

I love spring: a slight wind;
summer:burning hot;
autumn: a fallen leaf;
winter:white snow.

this is all life with me, i love.

In boston yesterday weather men and weather chicks were in hyperdrive over the impending storm. They blissfully bantered around the b-word (blizzard). This basically caused the entire state to shut down. The governor told everyone to stay home, school was cancelled. companies were letting people out at noon or earlier

How much snow did we get. I think 1/4 to a 1/2 an inch in Boston and it didn't start until evening.

Hard to tell how much we got. We had 24 inches on the ground till the last wave came in, but that was way more wind than snow. It filled the trench we dug for the sidewalk, but blew my driveway nearly clear. The street outside, however, is a drift 4 or 5 feet high.

Terminal cabin fever setting in. Likely to lead family on a 30-minute walk to a restaurant just to get out of the house. Isn't that how the Donner Party started?

i hate the snow as well. I live in the "snow belt" in NE Ohio, so I guess I am kind of used to it.

This year, however, I am the lucky soul that gets to shovel all the old people out of it. I work for a garden center that does snow removal in the winter. Tonight's going to be a long night... ugh

This was from saturday morning. I $h1t you not, it was this deep for the entire neighborhood. 20+ houses. The drifts were up to my waist. It sucked.

Wow! That is a L O T of shoveling. Hopefully this is it for you guys for the season.

I too hate snow. I thought it was fine when I rarely saw it, but now it's pretty much guaranteed that all I'll see between December and March is white white white, I hate it.

This.

People from Wisconsin understand my amazement with the way things have been here in VA.

I grew up in WI and it's almost comical how freaked out people around here get when it snows (it would be if I didn't have to share the roads with them).

In a couple weeks I'll be moving from CA to CO and all I can say is... good riddance! I'm looking forward to the snow. People love the "hot" and "dry" weather here... I don't. I belong in a geographic location where it rains and snows and isn't in a constant drought. I am not a desert person.

For all you people who hate snow, come on over to CA. ;) As for me... I'm outta here!

I lived in Southern California for a few years. I hated not having seasons.

Did you grow up there?

Did you grow up there?

Yep. I've lived in SoCal, within a 20 mile radius, my entire life (almost 30 years). Time to move on!

Part of what makes this move so attractive is that the housing prices and cost of living is about half what it is here. Throw in less people, less earthquakes, less state financial difficulties... (I could keep going but I don't want to hijack this thread!)

And... I like snow. ;)

Bah. I'm having a real love/hate relationship with snow today. I love the fact that my office is closed today due to WHITE DEATH!!!!

I ordered a new Mini, and I decided to have it delivered to my office. According to FedEx, it's scheduled to be delivered today. To my closed office. We're also closed Monday for President's Day. NOOOOOOO!!!!!! Why does this evil snow conspire to keep me away from my shiny new (err, refurbed) Mini?

I've lived in SoCal for 2 years now, and I think that there are most definitely seasons. They're obviously not as apparent as when I lived in Toronto, but that's just fine by me.

I definitely notice the difference between W,S,S, and F here. The differences are just a little more slight.

The past few weeks it has been raining on and off here in LA, and when it has been raining, it's rained pretty hard. I'd rather have rain than snow.... Fortunately (for me), it's sunny and pleasant now....

Hate snow! Do you hate the cold too? There are plenty of places that never get snow! Move to a place you'd like!

We ended up getting about 5 inches of snow Thursday night and yesterday. People were freaking out. I can't complain too much I guess, since I get a 4 day weekend out of the deal. :) True to form, most of the snow is gone today as it warms back up into the mid-upper 40s. The news reports were saying this was the most snow we have gotten in Feb. in 50+ years.

Tomorrow, things really return to normal: upper 40s-lower 50s and rain. We don't have a real winter, we just have a rainy season.
