I don‘t know which Garmin this actually is, I just saw the picture somewhere on reddit.
Peter Wright (darts pro) is wearing one with an ocean band.
I've seen so far two people wearing Ultras, one at a pool and one on a hike. The regular Apple Watch is not really "popular" in Switzerland but you do see people wearing them now and again. The Ultra is super rare.Outside of the Apple Store, of course. I have not seen a single person sport the Ultra, even at the gym or at mass gatherings like the mall. I thought that the Ultra was popular? That seems kind of odd.
Hopefully someone who was eagerly waiting for their new Ultra did not receive an empty boxA delivery driver to my house was wearing one about a week ago. Only one I’ve ever seen.

One of the reasons, I imagine, is that the Ultra is very big and I guess it just doesn't work for a lot of people. It's also quite expensive.
Plus, in Europe iPhones are much rarer compared to the US, and Apple watches don't work with Androids.
Garmin is a popular choice for a smartwatch, followed by Samsung Watch/Fossil Android Wear watches.
Count on this forum to produce someone to contradict the mildest personal take! While it is true that iPhone market share is below Android in most european countries, Switzerland is not one of them. Hence I have a very hard time believing that Apple Watch is not popular there. Here in Germany where iPhone market share is approx. 30% I see tons of Apple Watches all the time.

I didn't state what you wrote, so I'm not sure what to reply. I said, if you go back, that iPhones are rarer (a comparative, different from rare) in Europe (not Switzerland) compared to the US, and I stand by that, according to all available data.It was just that some of your reasoning didn‘t make sense. Stating that iPhones are „rare“ in Europe, and especially in Switzerland, is not a „personal take“ but simply wrong.

It's not possible to have a conversation with a person who misquotes you and replies to some straw man, it's like talking to a wall.
Android is clearly the dominant platform, and the more Eastern Europe you go, the more of a rarity the iPhone becomes. Since Apple doesn’t release, to my knowledge, much or any data regarding iPhone sales, activations, devices in use, there’s plenty of speculation and made up data to go around. I’m personally surprised hearing “a third”, Europe wide I would think it’s less.Android is the dominant platform for Europe though, you’re more likely to see an android phone being used than an iPhone even if Europe accounts for a third of Apples sales. It also has over double the population of the US so this goes some way to explaining why the preference here is much wider. iPhones are pretty popular in the UK, not so much newer models but in my circles I’d say most people use them. The Apple Watch is popular but that doesn’t mean most iPhone users have one. Most of my friends are into running and other sports so it’s more Garmin than Apple.
I’m not a fan of her Ultra myself, it wears too big on me and not fussed on its design. Feature-wise it’s the most capable Apple Watch. It’s quite a bit more expensive in Europe compared to the US and maybe this has effected the reception somewhat? Most people I run with or am aware of seem to use Garmin. I’m the only one on my Strava group with an Apple Watch funnily enough. In any case, in my opinion it’s fair to say that the Ultra was a flop, at least in Europe. Shame really, it’s by far the nicest and most capable Apple Watch. I don’t have one because I’m with Garmin, but if I even remotely considered an Apple Watch, the Ultra would be the only one.
I also live in Orlando and I see them quite oftenIt has to depend on the metropolitan area you're part of also. I doubt I'd see as many in my hometown of 115,000 people, but in the Orlando metro area, I see them quite often.
