At first I hated the look of ios 7 ( the keyboard was awful and it was slow ), now after the 7.1 update I like it, as well as the new ios 7 features. :)

It's definitely more of a hassle with longer search terms that go beyond the space in the bar. However I'm not sure if that aspect of it was any different in the separate search bar in Safari pre iOS 7.
Yes it was, it didn't automatically highlight the search text.

Was it different in iOS 6 or earlier?

Yes it never highlighted all of the text before automatically

What do you mean?? Nothing, it just stayed there and you easily click to the right of it to add text.
So when you tapped on the search field with something entered in it it automatically went to the end of it and simply stayed at the end of it?

Got it. Yeah, it would be nice if it worked that way in iOS 7. Not a deal breaker or anything, but would generally be better it seems.

Yeah it's a big annoyance to me bc I search a lot.

I suspect lots of people do searches. I often fight with the search bar to let me type something without replacing what's already there. Sometimes it's easier to just modify it in the google page itself and search that way.

Yeah exactly, that's not how it should be. You should be able to use the search bar smoothly.

Is there a tweak or better browser?

There are certainly other browsers you can try like Chrome, Mercury, Atomic, iCab, Puffin, Dolphin, and various other ones.

Don't you hate the "shared links" tab?

I don't have Twitter, so it doesn't show up for me. It doesn't seem like it'd be my thing, but from what I understand, it easily stays out of the way.

The last thing I need is to view more link-baits. It's out of control.

Why would you hate it? You don't have to use it.

Bc, like most of my other annoyances, it gets in the way. It's way too close to "done", I constantly accidentally click it. Very annoying for such an unpopular infrequently used feature.

I don't use Bluetooth, Do Not Disturb, Reading List, Airdrop, Newstand, Shared Calendars, Facebook integration, YouTube sharing, or Compass. They get in the way. Apple should remove those features.

Almost none of those are placed directly on top of a frequently used feature.

Seriously though, the nitpicking around here is getting ridiculous.
No, it's not. Most of them are legitimate complaints and shouldn't detract from your blind worship of your device and refusal to acknowledge glaring flaws.

I love the phone but it has some seriously unnecessary flaws. It could and should be almost perfect.

Your idea of "perfect" is not everyone's idea of "perfect." If you had your "perfect" iOS, many others would be on hear endlessly complaining, just as you are.

Battery life is a legitimate complaint. App crashes is a legitimate complaint. The music app is a legitimate complaint. The placement of the Shared Links button is nitpicking.

Why does it seem like people are paid by Apple to ignore these glitches? And before anyone tells me it's not a glitch and that Safari is supposed to refresh every time I exit/reopen it, even for seconds, or that it's in my head, please don't bother.

The only reasonable conclusion is that Apple deliberately released software that slows down/runs poorly on hardware they still market and sell, essentially forcing you to upgrade.

If they don't get this straightened out by the iPhone 6 I am definitely switching to Android.

I'm not sure what you're referring to, or what hardware you're talking about.

Safari doesn't reload every tab on my iPad 2. It has to reload things frequently, but these things are all RAM starved. I haven't noticed anything out of the ordinary regarding iOS 7 in that regard.

As for Android...it's a gigantic disaster. If you must get one, PLEASE get a Nexus that runs stock Android, and not something like a Samsung thing that runs a years out of date OS, will maybe get one update (a year late) and then that's it. That entire ecosystem is just ready to become a massive malware playground LOL.

I also hate how programs can just do whatever they feel like. It at least tells you what they have access to, but unlike iOS you can't disable things individually.

At any rate, I've got a Nexus 7 and an iPad 2 and VASTLY prefer my iPad in nearly every way.
