Does anyone find that their Solo case is harder to clean off than the iPhone itself? Fingerprints are not surprising since the Solo has a shiny finish, but I find it hard to wipe it clean - it tends to smear.

Yeah it can get a little smudgy. It's more rubberized than the Iphone which is probably why the smudges are harder to clean. I usually just breath on it and wipe it with my shirt.

I hope the green Solo fx doesn't stain as bad as the red one on the BSE skins... I was planning on installing a Simple Back on a white iPhone. Oh well, maybe it won't bother me much any way.

Mr. Biggles and livingonvideo13, I have a question about the revoClip for Solo -- I know you can also use it as a stand in landscape mode, as shown below; but does the stand work in portrait mode as well?

Thanks! :)

No it does not. The clip on the back side is what holds it up. It portrait mode it would be high.

Good luck with that. I'm pretty sure the red one does stain on a BSE skin.

I received my knock-off iSkin Solo FX case and it looks great! Fits like a glove and now my 3GS isn't nearly as slippery as it was. $5 well spent!

I just got my black Solo off eBay for 21 bucks shipped. Out of the 7 or 8 cases I have tried, this is the best. The fit is great and the glossy black looks awesome. The case adds very little bulk and just enough grip to the phone. My most recent case before switching was the speck candyshell (which I liked). However, I wish Speck would make it in normal colors and more scratch resistant.

how is it with fingerprints?

I'm seriously looking into getting one of these. How would you guys say the solo fx compares in thickness to the incase slider or seidio innocase II? Also, does it stick in pockets at all?

I can answer the last question - it doesn't stick at all. Not even a lint grabber.

Thanks. If anyone wants to see how bad it could look. I'll post pics of the green stains on the BSE skin if it does.

Hopefully, I can find an iPhone today!

Its not as bulky as the slider. And it doesn't "stick" at all like some cases.

Hi there,

I know using this case with screen protectors has been discussed, but can anyone give me any definitive advise on this? I'm looking to get the solo fx and combining that with the crystal power support screen protector, but I need to know if the case will disturb the protector at all? Any ideas.

Also, trying to decide between purple and blue. Can anyone confirm that in person the case looks the same kind of caribbean blue that it appears to be on the site? I've seen reviews on youtube where the case looks much darker.

my opinion of the iskin solo is probably one of the minority opinions among the mostly satisfied users on this forum, but I returned my black iskin solo for 2 reasons:

1) my black one was a grease/fingerprint/smudge magnet that would look nasty after a while if I didn't constantly wipe it off, and I'm one of those people who like to put a case on a phone and forget it and let it do its job. Other colors will probably not show as much so they're often better choices.

2) It doesn't really attract to pockets so that wasn't an issue, but since it was always in my pockets, dust would accumulate around the edges on the screen and look kinda nasty after a while. This also required maintenance and I was not pleased. The material is good enough that all in all, it won't attract dust on the body itself, but it was tacky enough to attract it around the edges of the screen and it became gross. I feared also that this could potentially cause scratches on the bezel if I didn't clean it out every so often.

I thought it was a good case and a great idea in terms of the material used, but it wasn't for me.

I have not the 3GS iPhone yet, but bought me iSkin solo fx (green) and Power Support Crystal film from eBay, i hope this will work great when 3GS is released in Norway 31 july!

I agree that the iSkin Solo collects dust in the corners of the screen (I don't use a screen protector). But I'm okay with taking the iPhone out of the case and wiping down both the phone and the case every few days.

I got rid of the Solo because it got to smudgy. I then got a Solo FX, which doesn't have this issue. However, I got one of the clear knock-offs from ebay and I'm using that one now. A little less quality than the FX, in the form of a couple of air bubbles, but I really like the clear one on my white phone.

I think the dust gathering in the corners is due in part to the new screen coating on the 3GS, which isn't a problem now that I have an anti-glare protector on. I've used both the PS and SGP ones and don't have the dust issue anymore.
