This particular 6 Plus has been deliberately kept in a back jeans pocket, but treated well. Noticed a smaller bend on an iPhone 6 too.

you like to pick and choose what interests your agenda...

I'm your worst nightmare though:

they admit it to being kept in back pocket

now go back to your agenda....

Kept in a back pocket and sat on are two totally different things. A phone should survive being carried in a back pocket.

Go back to your agenda, oh wait, you haven't ever stopped.

Pretty sure they mentioned the back pocket because they sat on phone.....otherwise what was the point in mentioning the back pocket?

How many times I've put my sharp house keys in my back pocket and forgot about them when sitting on my car's nice leather seats....

I give the award for stupidest posts in this thread to boltjames :D

Congratulations boltjames

You know that they say about assuming.....

The difference is that Apple sells tens of millions of iPhones per quarter. In 2013 Apple had around 34% share of the U.S. Mobile phone market. Bentley is at best a niche player in the U.S. Auto market. iPhone is mainstream.

It's a real stretch to say that a product that's used by tens of millions of ordinary people in everyday life should require more care. If anything, it should require LESS care. Peace of mind is a luxury.

Plastic knives are quite popular too, doesn't mean they can cut steak.

Apple made a compact aluminum and glass mobile device and it's no secret that it needs to be handled with additional care. If you want to risk bending a pair of sunglasses, go ahead, put 'em in your back pocket, don't blame Ray Ban because you took a chance.

To compare an iPhone to an expensive car like a bently is absurd.

If you were making the claim for one of the Gold :apple:watches? I could understand.

This is a phone. Yes it is higher priced, but it is designed for an average user. Much more like a Nissan. It isn't a Kia.

And sunglasses? What? Really?

When has placing sunglasses in your pocket EVER been widely adopted?

Phones have been. If they can't be now, Apple is changing how we are to carry our phones. If this is the case, there will be resistance. People will eventually catch on. But you DO realize, that this is going totally against the NORM?

It would be more like saying "Don't wear your sunglasses around your neck! I mean, duh. That will cause them to form to the shape of your chest!"

Do people usually put sunglasses in their pockets? I would guess not.

Do people put every other phone on the market in their pockets? Yes they do.

You shouldn't be 'taking a chance' by doing what every other phone is capable of doing and has been doing for years. Bad design is not a feature.

A closer comparison would be ray ban making a pair of sunglasses out of chocolate.

They deliberately kept the phone in their back pocket and claim it was still treated well. The damn thing WILL bend! It's over 6" tall, what do you expect when you sit on it?

When was it sat on?

They didn't mean it stayed in that pocket at all times or the washing machine might well have done it even more damage. It was treated well, read ... it wasn't sat on.

You definitely have a good point. However, back pockets tend to curve and bend especially if the jeans are a little tight. Front pockets are straight and conform to the leg. Most butts are curved. :)

Looks like MacFormat magazine have a slightly bent iPhone 6 and a 6 plus

No cases involved by the way.

They said they had it in their back pocket. You don't know it wasn't sat on any more than I do. In fact, that is a point they didn't seem to make. You're out to do two things, promote your website and dramatize the obvious. You put something that is 6" in your back pocket, it will bend!

Now, I think the phones bend easily but I also think there has to be some common sense.

'Promote' would imply I wish to gain from it. Its not about me.

I just want apple to give a proper response to customers and not the fob off their last statement was. People are spending a lot of money and many are being told they can't have replacement for a flawed device as apple have now classified bends as accidental damage.

Its not an anti-apple agenda it is pro-customer. An iPhone 6 shouldn't bend when doing the same things you did with an iPhone 5 without customers being given a warning before purchase.

You guys are awful with analogies. It is quite comical.

I don't think any pair of sunglasses will survive in my back pocket, but smartphones have survived in my back pockets for the past 10 years. See the difference?

Stop stating absolutes. I've owned plenty of phones, some small and some large. Kept in my back pocket and sat on plenty. No bends or breaks.

True.

"I want my iPhone to get thinner and lighter with bigger displays over time."

_____ YES

_____ NO

If you chose YES, the iPhone 6 is for you, just be a little more careful with it because, after all, it's thinner than ever. Common sense, I know, right?

If you chose NO, the iPhone 5C is for you, put it in an Otterbox and you can use it to chop wood.

A smartphone isn't a smartphone any more, it's a mini-tablet, and you don't stick a tablet in your pocket.

See the difference?

Nope and my past 8 phones that were bigger or the same size as the 6 disagree. Thanks for playing.

Be happy; your thick, heavy Android won't bend. Google teach you that in social media guerrilla marketing class?

I'm an equal opportunity phone owner. So, add BB and Nokia Lumia to your list.

You are ridiculous.

Also strange that my note 3 weighs less than the 6 plus. I guess facts are too difficult for you to look up.

Look at all these nerds not signing their posts. Probably the same nerds purposely bending their phones. FACT: no iPhone has ever bended accidentally.

9 complaints out of 10,000,000 sold. Fact not difficult to look up.

And if on that one-in-a-million chance occurs and our iPhone's bend, we buy new ones. Apple owners can afford it.

True that. Android phones are teh suxz0rs. I hate all the hardware manufactured by Android.

Can afford it? You love yourself.

If the carriers didn't subsidize or offer no interest financing then a lot of people would switch. Please don't think that you are cool because you have an iphone. It is a phone. Nothing special about it.

I wasn't mentioning anything about the prevalence of the bending issue. Reading comprehension and argument fail.

Still trying to understand your point.

I think what you're trying to say is that a corporation that is wildly successful and just had the biggest retail moment in world history built a product for rich people who if not careful will have to dip into their deep bank to buy another one. Gee. Thanks for that. Epiphany. Enlightened.
