Other than being an annoyance, the name change has no impact on the operation of the Mac. If I could just turn off the notice, I would be perfectly happy.

Did you fixed your problem? If not, I suggest reset all your network settings to factory default.

I have done this also with the router and mesh repeaters. And I activated IPv6 in the network and it's incredibly fast!

Now my smartphone has 5 IPv6 addresses and one IPv4 address. It also works well on my M4 Air. If needed I can provide a screenshot.
 
It seem to have straightened it selfout. I have had several EERO updates and whatever caused the problem must have been a bug fixed in EERO software update.

I am glad! Remembers me back in the day that the firmware of my colleague's router did had also some bugs and after installing several like you boom gone!
