Yep, you were right. Mine arrived in Memphis a short while ago. This is where we all part ways.
Memphis, TN if I am not mistaken is the Hub for USA for Fed-ex and from there it goes through customs then after clearing customs it will go to your local hubs or sometimes depending on location it may fly straight to your city. Some lucky people close to Memphis, could get theirs tomorrow if they choose express shipping and Fed-Ex wanted to deliver early but depends on customs as Customs can sometimes take a long time to clear.

You never know. If it clears customs fast enough and gets a departure scan fast enough you could get lucky. I live in Las Vegas and i had things leave at 2 am on the east coast and fly to Vegas and arrive here at 6 am or 5 am whatever the time is and it will go out for delivery that day. So it all depends on Customs. Sometimes they push through the express orders faster than the standard shipping ones. I had a standard shipping order for a iPhone and it sat at customs for 1.5 days before it got a scan to come to me. I was not happy but really that is how things work.

Come to think of it, It arrived on Monday night and I thought I could get it on Tuesday but no, CUSTOMS had to take 2 days before it would ever clear and then it was Thursday morning it cleared but did not fly out until Thursday night and was delivered to me on Friday. I had standard shipping but at the same time I seen others come in after me and go right out but they had express shipping. Those get priority through customs.
So question is did you pay $30 extra for Express shipping? I did this time.

Thanks for all the info! I did pay for the extra express shipping. I was pretty happy with the delivery date of Wednesday, but delivery on Tuesday would be even better!
Your welcome. I was looking at the flights on fed-ex and one leaves in 2 hours for my city but not sure if it will clear customs by then as that is pretty fast so mine will probably continue to be Wed at 10:30 am and I am ok with that. But it would be super cool if it came tomorrow as a surprise. (wishful thinking)

This was the first time I ever paid for Apple shipping so that I can get my hands on something quicker. It's also the first time I've ever spent more than $2.5K on a single Apple product, so what's an extra $30 I thought lol. So far it looks like it was worth it. Also, I'm pretty sure large Apple shipments get priority clearance at customs.

My status now says international shipment release...does that mean it cleared customs?
I looked for you city and did not find a direct flight so it will probably go through a local hub first and you will no doubt get it Wednesday like me.

NO that means it got released from the flight (taken off the plane) next stop is Customs.

I feel like in the past when I have ordered things from Apple and they used Fedex...It came from China, then went to Louisville, and then it came here. I could be wrong, but I think thats the path it took.
That sucks... darn customs!
You will see a import scan next. That is when it clears customs I believe. Then you will get a departure scan after that and then it is on its way to your local hub or direct flight if there is one to you city.

Oh! Yours says import.. it may have cleared customs. You may be lucky but don't get your hopes up too much in case it is not through customs but I believe that it gets a import scan then you get to see a departure scan on the next available fllght out.

Mine just got a import scan too. hmmmm.... wonder if I can make that flight at 3:48 am coming to vegas, it arrives at 5 pm because of the time zone difference and could be lucky but still counting on wednesday unless i wake up to good news. 🙂

I just checked flight aware and there are some flights from memphis to louisville. I still think I'm looking at Wednesday. I guess on the bright side I should be pretty set for it to deliver on Wednesday.
But does Fed-ex goto Louisville like UPS does? what is the name of your local airport?

I'm thinking it has in the past. My local airport is LEX. I don't think there are fedex flights that stop there.
make sure you are looking at Fed-ex flights and not ups flights or did your ship on UPS?

you are right there are none. So it may go thru louisville and that would mean Wednesday my friend. But that is not that far away.

My iMac is at my sort facility, but delivery is still saying Wed @ 10:30am....hopefully it changes to "on delivery vehicle" soon. This is agony, I can literally see the sort facility from my house.

Wow, mine's in East Boston already! I'll have to keep an eye on it: if it gets put on the truck then I'll have to head back home ASAP and work from home today so I can get it. They haven't changed my estimated delivery date yet though, so it may just lounge around Boston for the day.
But, it's looking pretty certain I'll have it by tomorrow at the latest...

UPDATE: It's actually at my local delivery center (Needham, MA) now. I'm keeping a really close eye on it now in case they do decide to stick it on a truck today...
