I guess I just like to give my money to Apple. I don't have a good reason for ordering the 1TB version (Pro in Sierra Blue) but I ordered it anyway. Now I am trying to find a good use for the extra storage space. Did anyone else do the same?

Man, I used to get a lot of storage.. I had 512 iPhone 11 Pro Max. Got the 512 iPhone 12 Pro Max but had to return due to PWM. Got the 11 (Maybe one of my favorite iPhones ever), but I went with 256. And haven’t looked back… invest in iCloud storage.. 2tb of iCloud storage (nearly fully maxed out) and I still have 120gigs readily available. I would’ve went with 128 but I thought I might be pushing it with that thought lol

I’ve always gotten the 256gb because 512gb was overkill. But for some reason I did 1TB as well. Do I need it? No. Will I use it? No. Will it lose major resell value? Yes. If it weren’t for the 100,000 point bonus on my chase card that this will give me i would have probably stuck with 256.

Sounds like you have buyers remorse. I don’t know what your financial situation is, but if I were you, I’d cancel the order and get 256gb.
It is a lot of money (but I can afford it). If I cancel it then I will lose my place in line (and not get it next Friday). I think I may stick with it. It may come in handy to hold some of important laptop files or maybe the space will come in handy for ultra-hd movies.

I haven't upgraded in four years so it may be a while and this does future proof it (but I still don't have a really good reason for buying the most expensive one).

I’ve never quite understood this. So if your iPhone storage is full iOS will free up space by basically removing pictures/videos and replacing them with thumbnails. But if you have 2tb full of content in the cloud that will still be A LOT of thumbnails to store locally no?

How much storage space do you use on your current phone? I can see buying a device with a little headroom, but unless you’ve got a 512 that’s bursting at the seams, or you’re planning to get into filmmaking, the 1 TB seems like overkill.

Welcome to the Big Boys Club. I too ordered the 1TB version because I don't like the "GB" name. TB sounds a lot nicer and I can download tons of my favorite Netflix documentaries. Very happy with my choice. Let's hope it arrives flawless and no dust in the camera lens otherwise it's going back to Timmy.

I just could not help but smile when I read your post!

I used to always get the 256 because I never thought 64gb would be enough. But when I got my 12PM I got 128gb and it’s got plenty of room. I’m just under 100gb free after 6 months of use. I stream music and shows and don’t store them locally unless I’m going for a long drive but then I remove afterwards. And I am pretty good about curating my photos library to get rid of random picture I take to show someone something. Turns out 64gb would have been plenty 😂

What made you purchase it in the first place? Doesn't seem like good decision planning was present (not trying to be mean) but I would return it and get 256 and just get the 50gb icloud plan.

I wish I could have tbh

I currently have the 256GB 12 Pro Max and will be upgrading to the 512GB 14 Pro Max next year. With all of the new camera features Apple keep adding, I’m going to have to upgrade my storage since my iPhone is my main camera.

I usually go with 256gb but I have a 3 month old and with all the pictures and videos I’m going to be taking and with lossless audio, I didn’t want to even think about storage issues with keeping the phone for 2 years.
