I’ve never quite understood this. So if your iPhone storage is full iOS will free up space by basically removing pictures/videos and replacing them with thumbnails. But if you have 2tb full of content in the cloud that will still be A LOT of thumbnails to store locally no?
Yes, and the more photos the more storage those thumbnails will take.
Fun fact: those thumbnails are actually quite decent for anyone to recognise what's roughly in that photo.
I assumed the TB option would be for pros that take raw footage and such. Turns out it’s for people that wanna store Apple Music’s library locally 😂
Idk. Maybe those 2 million songs only need a couple thousand TB to store. :D

I use 2TB cloud storage and just at 405GB with that … I don’t think I would need the 1TB phone just yet.

And no way my wife will green light that purchase either :p
My wife may never know how much I spent on my new iPhone 13 Pro 1TB.

(Not that I’m hiding anything. I just don’t need permission to buy my expensive Apple toys).

Correct. iCloud photos is only taking up 10 gigs instead of 600gb. With 5g etc. everything downloads and loads so fast.

between my iCloud messages and photos, I could just about fill up 1tb without movies/music

Holy crap that’s a lot of messages. I have mine set to purge after 30 days. Can’t imagine needing a text longer than that. My wife on the other hand has every text ever sent and I can’t figure out why 😂

It is a lot of money (but I can afford it). If I cancel it then I will lose my place in line (and not get it next Friday). I think I may stick with it. It may come in handy to hold some of important laptop files or maybe the space will come in handy for ultra-hd movies.

I haven't upgraded in four years so it may be a while and this does future proof it (but I still don't have a really good reason for buying the most expensive one).

I have no use for 1TB on a phone (512 is the most I would ever need) but, hey, if you have the means why not go for it. Never anything wrong with getting more than you need as long as you can afford it. As a popular YouTuber likes to say, “treat yourself, don’t cheat yourself” lol.

Apple is for married men who enjoy their tech toys with grumpy wives. My kinda of company 👌🤙

Lol! So does this mean next year its okay for her to know you upgrade when they redesign? Cause she will think it had been 2 years? 🤣

Yeah exactly she’ll think i skipped this year and have strong will power 💪 to hold off and I’m well behaved and not wasting our vacation dollars on latest and greatest tech. (ha little does she know). It’s what I call guilt free enjoyment. Thanks Apple.

I guess I just like to give my money to Apple. I don't have a good reason for ordering the 1TB version (Pro in Sierra Blue) but I ordered it anyway. Now I am trying to find a good use for the extra storage space. Did anyone else do the same?
I ordered 512gb for the first time; probably gonna to put all my music on it ; about 160gb

Current iPhone X is 256Gb. It’s about 135GB utilised. I ordered the 256gb but I’m sure I could easily dump 80gb of garbage if I wanted. I wouldn’t get the 128gb because it doesn’t have a full ProRes mode (4k) should I want to try it out. 512gn would be overkill and adds $350aud.. little bit much for something I won’t use.

I’ll play around with the camera and if it’s insufficient I’ll get the 512gb.

that's stupid. if you don't think you'll need it then why buy it? i mean it's your money you do what you want but why do you feel loyalty towards a multi trillion $ company? or are you just on to brag? cause honestly you are just coming off as having more money than sense lol.

Currently, I have an iPhone X with 256GB, the top model. I am only using 35% of it right now. I do have the iCloud 1TB plan, so photos off-load to the cloud if I run out of space. I have tons of photos and videos too. I am surprised it's as low as it is. So I went with the 256GB this time as well.

1 TB holly cow, if I was to load my whole porn collection on my iPhone that would not fill it up. You do love to blow your cash I have found that once you purchase your phone at Apple no mater what state the order sits in they still ship it before the update the order. It will say processing or filling order or whatever just to get you excited!. On the other hand with standard shipping I really hope that they don't ship mine with FedEx ground because getting anything on time is a complete crapshoot, they are the worst, UPS is the best right now unless Amazon handles the shipping lol anyway good luck to all.
