Such a dissapointment, I've had iPhone since the 4S, got the 5 and 5S, obssesed with Apple, watched the keynotes, on this forum everyday. I was excited for iPhone 6, but when I saw what it was during the keynote AND holding it in my hands at the store, the magic was gone. This is coming from an apple fanboy, not some android loving hater, I hate android by the way. The 6 just doesn't do it for me. It's just too tall, bezels too big, those ugly plastic bands, the way the screen tapers down makes the edges too reflective, the plastic seal between the aluminum and screen they try to hide, there is just nothing about it that makes me want it. It's uncomfortable to use, I hate having to reach to get to notification center and to get to the apps in the left hand corner, the double tap thing on the home button to reach is lame, a work around that's neither fun nor elegant. I will be sticking with my 5S for a long time, I have the black 32gb I think I'm gonna get white 64GB. This is one Apple fanboy, signing out.

What is everyone's problem with the bezels? It's just iPhone's design language, a bit like how you can instantly see what brand a car is by just looking at the design. It's unmistakably an iPhone. If they make the bezels a lot smaller, they will start looking like all the other phones out there.

I for one am glad they stuck with it. It's a great homage to the original iPhone (with the curved design and metal back) which is my favourite phone design of all time.

There's certainly nothing wrong with the 5 or 5S. There are some who still prefer its elegant look and it's size. However neither is as advanced as the 6/6+.

I could live with my 5 for another year or two if necessary but I find the 6 more than compelling. To me, it's edges are infinitely more comfortable than the 5. The larger screen is a welcome change (and long overdue). Yeah, it could have had thinner bezels but that is not what they designed for one reason or another.

Everyone knows when you buy an iPhone, you're not buying just hardware, you're also buying iOS. Now that Apple has adopted Android's most useful features (IMO) and not the gimmicks that some rave about, the iPhone/iOS experience is terrific. (iOS 8 bugs aside).

If you're happy with the 5S and 6 leaves you wanting that's fine. I think the enthusiasm/demand for the 6/6+ places folks who feel like you into a shrinking and insignificant segment of the market.

I'm with you OP. I had a 6 for a week and a half and just couldn't get used to it. The 5S form factor is just perfect for me. I will continue using my 5S.

I don't consider myself an Apple fanboy/gal at all. My first iPhone was the 5 then i moved to the 5S, both of which I loved. I was sceptical about the 6 as I liked the form factor of the 5, to me the size was perfect for the one handed thing.

I purchased the 6 with reservations and I must admit it took me over a week to really enjoy it. Now, love the thing, I've adapted to the one handed thing (reachability is so cool) and I now find the 5S awkward and tiny.

I love the screen size, thinness and the curved edges of the 6.

I was ultimately disenchanted with the iPhone 6. I enjoyed my tenure with the iphones, but I think that Apple's main strength is their iMac, and even with that, the competition is rising. I'm not ditching apple here, but saying that it would be wise to keep an eye on the competition. We are not bound by tethers to apple. we are free to roam.

my 2500$ in apps beg to differ.

I don't know if you noticed, but iPhone's bezels are symmetrical. A person's eye LOVES symmetry. Look at nexus 5, it has assymetrical bezels and looks crooked. I love apple keeps doing things their way. Beautiful phone. Who cares avout the top bezel, it's not like you have to touch it or reach it with your finger.

I agree with you. Symmetry is a subtle accent that makes a huge difference. But eyes greatly appreciate it.

My 5s feels tiny in comparison to the 6 and 6+. All I can think is I could never go back to something that small and be squinting around trying to find stuff on my phone.

Yeah most people haven't really given the iPhone 6 a chance before they made posts criticizing it.

I'm sorry to hear that OP. That's a tough spot to be in, especially knowing this will be the form factor for the next two years.

The 5S is a solid phone. It will hold out for you until the 7. But, if it doesn't, you might want to reconsider an android device to hold you over until the 7 comes out. Not sure what you "hate" about android, but given the fact that you're calling yourself a fanboy, my guess is you haven't given it a fair shake. I have, and while I'm sticking with iPhone for the foreseeable future, the LG G3 and Nexus 5 (phones I've personally tried) are fantastic.

In any event, good luck. Maybe you'll come around to appreciating the 6. I think it's the best looking iphone ever, all things considered.

The lines are a nice graphic reflection of the front bezels. At least to my eye. I think most of the hate for them comes from the period before release when people were seeing the case back without the front included. First impressions are often hard to change.

I do not like the plastic lines on the back for my own reasons. I don't need you to tell me why I don't like them. I think they're ugly and unnecessary. Period.

They're ugly indeed but serve a purpose. Kinda forgot about them ever since I slapped a case on lol.

whatever. i went from s4 to 6+

aside from annoyances of itunes and the fact that there is no filesystem, I cannot kill this battery in one day, its literally impossible for me, that trumps all.

I'm getting 8-10hours of SOT. its killer.

Hi Jony, nice to see you around here from time to time!!

It's pretty clear Sony won the round this year and knocked Apple out of the ring hardware-wise with the Z3Compact. If only Sony would get a clue and put out a Google Play edition people would be beating at the factory doors to get one.

What would rock the smart phone world is if Apple licensed the Xperia Z3compact from Sony and set it up to dual boot AndroidGPE/iOS. Whoa that would be amazing. I'd pay $1500. More even.

I wasn't telling you why you don't like them. Relax.

Clear to whom? To my eye the Z3c looks like a ham handed knock-off of the iPhone 5.

The iPhone 6 is certainly the best iPhone I have used, in fact it is the best mobile phone I have used so its a matter of what best suits your needs and tastes. Not quite sure what this 'magic' is that people expect the iPhone to emit? Its a nice phone, its not supposed to dramatically change your life lol. If you like it you like it, if you don't you don't, simple as that.

It's a far better phone to use than the 5S. I wish it had the same styling as the 5S though.

The bigger screen makes a huge difference when taking pics and editing them.

Yesterday tried to hold and use both new iphones. And you know what? I agree with topic starter - new phones are pretty bad. Why? First of all ergonomics - all previous models anyone can use with ONE hand, now it's tough even with regular 6 (and I have bigger than average size hands), add to this round edges and you get extremely slippery phone. Bigger screens still tiny for regular web surf, optimised (mobiles version) web cites are good even on 3,5" screens, apps were never a problem on 3,5" screens too.

Phone needs to make/receive calls/messages and that's it. For surfing, mail, etc - you have ipads and lap tops for comfortable usage.

Will wait for cheap iphone, perhaps apple would return to smaller screen factor like 4,3-4,5" with less bezels, because it should fit your hand and be comfortable for one hand use - that's a priority for "mobile device".
