Now that Apple have "tweaked" the Macbook Pro keyboard (with this years update), would you buy a 2019 Air if Apple added the "tweaked" keyboard to it?

From the articles and reviews that i have so far read (iFixit is the best one) it seems they have changed a couple of things, the new material that's now being used under the keys, is a nylon material. According the iFixit video (linked down below) the plastic is also different.

I wonder why Apple didn't update the 2018 Macbook Air keyboard to the new one, at the same time as last weeks Macbook Pro update . Unless they plan to update the Air soon it seems silly to give the Macbook Pro the "tweaked" keyboard, but keep the problematic one in the Air.

Nope. I like my glowing Apple logo lol

I just bought a MacBook Air and surface laptop 2 to try out each to see which I prefer and return the other a couple days ago and I figured that the keyboard issue would have been fixed with the membrane that was put in. I certainly don't like that these are having issues like this and it's kind of deterring me from owning it.

Might return the air and wait for the refresh once they fix the issue.

I loved the Surface Laptop 2 (just couldn’t deal with trackpads and I couldn’t fix a minute Windows setting), but overall it was a wonderful laptop. I loved the build quality, the keyboard, the response and the display.

I wound up with a 2017 Air which is fine for me (again, ignoring trackpad, and real life is too much to devote to learning W10 at the moment), but I’ll have to go wireless mouse. I cannot see buying a 2018 Air due to the keyboard.

If I continue with laptops going forward, I think it’ll be a Windows machine. I’ll definitely need help software-wise, but I’ve been very impressed with the Surface laptops I tried.

Whatever you use, I hope it works for you.
