If your worried about warranty i wouldnt do it. Sure just pay more money(whatever that will be) to sand off $400 or remove it properly. $400+ down the drain. Could of bought another watch.

I still think you're crazy if you think you can literally sand off the gold and expect Apple to happily accept the watch for warranty service. If it's removed professionally so there's no trace left, then you're probably fine.

For the $80 paid incidental replacement, they will accept a watch that was driven over by a truck (the rep's choice of example). Shouldn't matter the condition, as long as no third party modifications are present.

With any luck I'll never have to test it....

Got some new bands recently, plating still looks great after a week (clearly i am not a professional photographer). Blue, Stone and Light brown leather loops.

Just got a tracking number so I guess it's done! Hopefully will see it before end of week.

By the way, I never didn't trust them or I wouldn't have sent it in the first place.

I guess I spoke too soon, I did get a tracking number two days ago but it is just a label creation, further more I see my city name spelled wrong. I have sent numerous emails of course with no response.

At this point I must say that not responding to emails and having no other way to contact them has to be the most frustrating thing. Regardless of the amount of orders etc... Is there not some sort of responsibility to a customer who wants to make sure the address information isn't misspelled and avoid any potential mishaps in the FedEx vortex?

What can I do?

Wow... This is a whole other level. I just checked the emails I shared with them to see if I had a phone number by any chance, but I dont. I'm thinking if there's anyone here that might have it they should share it with you even if it is through a private message or something.

I sent mine yesterday. I am really scared of what may happen. Hopefully it will be a smoother ride.

Best of luck!

I'm jealous! The blue/gold option looks amazing, congrats! I'm two weeks in today with mine and still love it. No scratches, no issues at all. And trust me I haven't been baby-ing it at all.

Guys, you are all good, I know its nerve wracking when a stranger has your watch and they are not communicating. It seems they go through super busy spells when they are getting ready to ship out a big bunch of orders where they just don't have the bandwidth to keep up with the emails.

I text Ryan a question yesterday and didn't hear back so sent him another one this morning and he responded instantly. You will either hear from them soon or have your watch back before you know it.

Hope this provides a sense of confidence.

Just relax, you will get it. You are in Montreal and they are in Los Angelas. You mailing it to them took at least 4 days unless you sent it overnight. The zip code will get it to the right place.

Thanks man, its all taken care of as I wrote in the previous post (11:42 am today). No need for your assumptions.

Just trying to ease your worries. You have been pretty paranoid. I have got things in the mail with the city spelled wrong. If the zip is right and address number is right, they will figure it out.

I have an idea!

To the OP Ryan, I have an idea, just give me 40% of the earnings, :p, no seriously, i got this patented but need your help. I'm not willing to get my Apple Watch gold plated but I'm wondering if you could make 18k gold plated thin case for the Apple Watch, gotta be thin and not those bulky cases. Let me know!

My chinese-knockoff-red-leather band just arrived... Looks good with the gold.

Does the Gold Adapter match or did you have it plated?

Link?

I did not have it plated, and it is not a perfect match. I can also see that the bands do not click into place with the same precision as an official band… it looks decent enough to get by, but it's about what you expect from a cheap knockoff

Can't patent an idea. In order to get a patent, *you* need to come up with a method of making a thin gold case. Which I'm guessing is outside the OP's area of expertise, as making things out of gold is a totally different process than gold-plating things.

Any updates on the wear for those that have already received?

I sent my watch out on Thursday and hope to have it back end of this week or early next week.

No signs of wear at all, and NO visible micro-scratches... it seems to be holding up much better than it would have as naked stainless steel actually. I've been using mainly my sport band, and that looks great too. The milanese loop I save for more formal occasions... it shows no signs of wear, but I have a suspicion the location the clasp grabs and releases each day would be the first to show wear.

The only complaint I have is I've noticed the crown gets stuck overnight and I have to free it when I first go to use it... I do not think that is related to the plating since many people have seen the issue... it is minor in my case, so nothing I am worrying about.

I think you are going to love the results... did you go for yellow or rose gold? What band?

Thanks for the update!

Although I wanted rose gold, one of the original plating places I contacted stated that rose gold plating with Milanese Loop may not hold up over time since it is mixed with copper. Based on that, I went with the yellow gold for the Milanese Loop, sport band, and 1 set of adapters.

Guys... I just got my watch back and The microphone is NOT working. I am freaking out. PLEASE if anyone could give me Ryans phone number I would appreciate it so much!!!

Is the watch fully dry? How are you testing the microphone? I can PM you his number, but let us know more specifically what you tried in case there is another issue here.

I just got the box. A opened it and looks perfect. Beautiful. I tried using Siri and calling but it does not detect my voice. The speaker seems to work ok. I am reallt worried. The rest of it seems to be working well but this is somethig extremely basic and important.
To me it seems like the microphone is being blocked by something. Even when y press the digital crown to use Siri the waves dont even move....

Have you tried holding it in front of a high volume speaker..?
That will tell whether it's blocked or broken...
