Is it possible to plate a Milanese Loop band to made it darker? I think a standard SS case with a black loop would look pretty neat and be unique.

The OP is working on a black chrome version but it's still in the testing phase according to FAQ. You can sign up for email updates if you want to be notified of this.

I know some people were curious how this process works, and I found this video that demos a $1400 electroplating kit ... Thought I would share. Considering this cost to "do it yourself", I think Ryan has picked a good price point for his service.

Apologies if this has come up, but since the Editions are shipping with the same silver charging puck as the stainless steel model, you might want to offer a service to plate the Chargers. Maybe even do a few and just offer them for sale and see if any Edition, or newly plated Watch owners would be interested.

If I had an Edition, I'd be dissapointed the charging cable was a cheap silver finish, and I'd be sending you mine to plate! Should never have to be replated, and will likely be good for several model upgrades unless Apple significantly changes the design.

I would be pretty cautious about that idea. The reason the watch can be plated is that it's water resistant and can be submerged in the playing solution, but the charger definitely is not.

This is interesting

I hope Ryan the OG poster would post a video showing how the apple watch is done
Not because I don't trust him , I'm just curious to see how
Like the history channel show modern marvels

Very good point. I honestly have no idea why Apple didn't at least gold plate the charger on the Edition charging case (which they could have done prior to assembly). Chrome charger next to gold Edition model looks off.

I doubt most people care about the charger. Who cares what color that is, it will be in my house all the time and isnt for display.

Hmm. I'm finally getting my SS...coming from the Sport. Let me stay out of this thread before I end up getting my watch goldplated. lol.

I'm not personally a fan of modding my Apple products but this left me extremely impressed. That takes a ton of talent and I think it looks amazing. Great work! I'm sure you could make a killing doing that on the side! Wow does that look nice.

I'm waiting to get mine back. I have been super patient with trying to communicate with them but it's near non existent since I sent it in. I emailed a bunch of questions once I saw the tracking number said delivered but no response....a bit frustrating to say the least.

Are they doing the pr people's watches first, as I see BGR just posted some guys review.

When did you send yours?

I am sending mine tomorrow and I am not looking forward to the anxiety I will have in the week from not getting back any information :(

Just got a tracking number so I guess it's done! Hopefully will see it before end of week.

By the way, I never didn't trust them or I wouldn't have sent it in the first place.

Not sure if this has been posted, but I hadn't seen it. The Apple Watch + link bracelet looks pretty amazing in gold. My main concern (aside from the whole warranty thing) would be how the bracelet would hold up after a while.

I wanna do it but oh the warranty! What are my options if my gold plated Apple watch gets damaged??

They pretty much come down to buy a new watch :(

If you read earlier in the thread this was debated. If the gold plating is removed -- which can be done professionally, or with sandpaper -- AC+ would still be applicable and you could get a full replacement for the incidental $80 fee. Not clear if you have to omit the fact it was previously gold plated, or if removing the third party modifications is sufficient and above table.

This is not an electroplating process, which we know Ryan's team uses

I still think you're crazy if you think you can literally sand off the gold and expect Apple to happily accept the watch for warranty service. If it's removed professionally so there's no trace left, then you're probably fine.
