This thread is useless, I know. I just needed to get it out into the universe that I want an iPhone X. HAHA!

I have an 8 plus that I love. I knew when I ordered it I would eventually want the X too. I have been so afraid to say good bye to the home button. And I still am. But it’s time to admit that I want one. I hate waiting, so I haven’t placed an order yet. I am just stalking the apple store app everyday to see if they get any in that I can reserve. I figure if they get one, its meant to be.

So like I said... useless thread. Just thought I would throw it out there to people that understand. I want one. Hehe.

You should! I haven't missed the home button at all. I'm about a week in and I LOVE this phone.

Go to istocknow and set up automatic notifications to let you know when the model you want is in stock at an Apple Store near you. That's what I did and was able to get exactly what I wanted last week.

Oh, I have been thinking about it. I just love going to the apple store and getting it. It’s a whole experience, you know?

I just did that this morning!! I am hoping to hear from them soon. Their notifications come via email right? I think I need to work on my iPhone email notifications...

At least you admit it, I'm sure there are several other 8 and 8 Plus owners running around here feeling the same way who don't say it...

I don’t hate my phone or anything. I just know I want the new one. If its a month before I find it, its not big deal. There’s something fun about the chase.

I agree chasing down the newest iPhone is arguably as good as owning it

I just don’t get the whole fascination about people thinking that the 8 / 8 plus owners regret their buying decisions. Everyone knew that the X was going to come out within a month. People must have reasons to make a conscious decision to choose the 8 plus.

I knew exactly what I was doing. I knew the 8 would probably be the last phone with the classic iPhone look that I have loved for 10 years. And I enjoy my iPhone 8 Plus every time I pick it up. I don’t regret it. I am happy with it. I just want to check out the X. Maybe I’ll have two phones. Who cares. I like all of it. 🙂

I satisfied that 8+ to X "itch" for the second and last time. I am on the X and not giving it up until they give me an X+!

Do it, you know you want it! Give in!

swiping up is getting annoying now...waiting for someone to make an app that will commandeer the side button to simulate the swipe up gesture.

Okay, I'll admit it. I bought the iPhone 8 and I loved it, but got caught up in the hype and wanted an X. I waited for reviews here and in spite of reading a lot of negatives, I still wanted it. I kept going to the Apple store to look at it and finally purchased one, certain that I would be returning it. I've had it for 6 days now and really like it. The screen is gorgeous. I was fortunate to get one with no yellow tint and minimal color shift and it is brighter than my 8. Coming from an 8, the biggest change is the larger screen (which is easier for my old eyes to read) in a body that is only slightly larger than the 8. Face ID has worked well and I was never concerned about the notch. There is no way I'm giving up this phone. I'll probably keep the 8 as a backup for now.

Same story here but with the 8+.
Love the swiping.

boy do I get pissed at my ipad when doesn't respond to swipes

I am also one that purchased the 8 due to it being the last model with the home button. I'm not sure why I fight it but I always have needed to have the latest and greatest. After tiring of waiting for my local Apple store to get stock I reserved one that I found in Chicago (2.5 hour drive) and made the trip yesterday.

I now have an 8 sitting in a drawer at home while I enjoy my X. No regerts.

Now that is dedication. Not sure I would have driven 2.5 hours for the X, but I've done worse in the pursuit of a wanted item. 😀

I would soooo drive 2.5 hours! I just can’t find one that close! I can’t find one anywhere. I know I could order online, but its just not as fun.

I had the day off and it'd been over 20 years since I've been in Chicago so I thought I'd make a day of it. Totally worth it.

OP you're gorgeous.....that's all I got 🙂
So is this.

Check Apple online at 6 am. It will let you know if it is available in your area and you can reserve it for pick up. That is how I found mine. They go fast.

Sounds like a great day!

I'd actually recommend checking istocknow at night as well. The local Apple Store updates their stock around 11pm. I saw it as available on the site before it sent me a reminder. I reserved it immediately and picked it up the next day. By 7a all the local stock was long gone.
