Anytime you get the urge for the X, just remember iPhone 4s, 5s, and 6s.

4s - no Antennagate. Dual core A5.

5s - no Scuffgate. Touch ID. 64-bit A7.

6s - no Bendgate. 2nd gen Touch ID. M9 for raise to wake. Double RAM.

Had the 8 plus the experience was similar to the 6 plus and 7 plus so I sold it, now have the X and enjoying the new experience.

Glad you were able to find an x! Which color/size did you get?

Sorry! I just saw this. Silver 64gb. Exactly what I wanted. Couldn’t have been more perfect. Never thought I could go back to the smaller storage, but iOS 11 seems to have optimized things and I found I was only using 19 of my 256 before! So I went with this one. 24 hours in, its awesome!

How is it possible that I already hate the idea of the home button? I used it for 10 years and it took two days to get used to being without it! Haha!!!

This thread is useless, I know. I just needed to get it out into the universe that I want an iPhone X. HAHA!

I have an 8 plus that I love. I knew when I ordered it I would eventually want the X too. I have been so afraid to say good bye to the home button. And I still am. But it’s time to admit that I want one. I hate waiting, so I haven’t placed an order yet. I am just stalking the apple store app everyday to see if they get any in that I can reserve. I figure if they get one, its meant to be.

So like I said... useless thread. Just thought I would throw it out there to people that understand. I want one. Hehe.

I’ve played with the X. I can say swiping up is very natural thing to do and feel not having a home button to press is not an obstacle to me. I bought a 8 Plus cause I want the fingerprint scanner. I’m still not over the whole Face ID thing.

I’m holding out for an X plus (you know it’s begging for a larger model) and maybe a fingerprint scanner under the screen (I know I know... when pigs fly).

Having used Androids with onscreen home buttons, I do think Apple made the right call in using swipe up instead of an onscreen home button. It’s so much faster. I took to that aspect right way when trying my husband’s iPhone X. I’m just really reluctant to give up Touch ID. I do now like the Plus form factor, but it took a couple of years to come to that point. I am sort of split down the middle as to whether or not I’d prefer and 8 Plus or an X. I do want the best camera. They’re so close, but the OIS on the zoom lens really makes the case for the X stronger.

Anyway it was nice to read about your change of heart and your excitement. Congratulations on your new purchase and I hope you enjoy it. Thank you for making such a fun, upbeat thread. We could use some more positivity around here. Even if the battery ends up not meeting your needs, you still had a very positive approach to your purchase and I appreciate that. My husband does get very good battery life from his iPhone X. He did start it fresh. He ran through battery the first couple of days and then after that it’s been very close to what he was used to on his iPhone 7 Plus, usually better, he just said.

The size of the X has won me over. The issue I have now is Apple is making me think I have a small phone. Next year they will probably come out with a bigger phone.
In reality I have a smaller form factor with almost the same size screen.
Unfortunately that’s not how the mind will see it or how Apple is psychologically sell it to us.
They tell us the X is the small one but the X1 is only slightly larger with 25% more screen and that the people that like the size of the plus phone, there’s the XL with 50% more screen over the X,

It’s definitely nicer to carry than a Plus. I struggled so much carrying the Plus that I bought and used the SE for a long time. Eventually I adjusted. Now I even carry around two phones a lot of the time, the S8+ and 7 Plus.

Same here. I always had mixed feelings about the physical buttons. I had to press it a certain way to avoid making the clicking sound. I actually thought the on-screen button of some Android devices was a better design. But of course that was before the iPhone X. The swipe-up gesture of the X has totally leapfrogged Android’s soft buttons. It’s so awesome and intuitive.

I grew tired carrying the plus sporting a case.
When the series 3 Watch came out I was happy because I could leave the phone behind.
Then when I saw a picture of the X next to the 8 I started to become interested

Not me. I never could adjust to the plus format comfortably. So I settled for an iPhone 7 and also use a Galaxy S8 too.

At the moment, I’m very happy with just carrying an iPhone X. The battery life of the X seems better than the S8. I definitely don’t miss how the S8 kept telling me that it wants to put apps to sleep everyday. A couple of times, I turned on my S8 to retrieve some files, and I kept swiping up instead of hitting the home button 😀

So @Lspice all setup and configured, and all data restored, too?

I am all set up! Everything seems to be just like I want it. I got myself a 2nd wireless charger for my desk at work so I don’t have to worry about my battery anymore. I am traveling across the country for thanksgiving, I guess we will see how the battery holds up when I am away from a charger for a long period of time.

So far, I love this phone and have no regrets. The only thing I miss about my plus is the battery.

For general usage (web surfing, messaging, and phone calls), the battery can be stretched pretty well.

I personally removed Facebook because of how much of a battery killer that is.

This is my battery from yesterday. I had a 5 hour stretch of using the web browser constantly playing jackbox games in the evening with friends, mixed with my normal rest of the day usage. If I hadn’t played those games I probably would have ended the day with about 50%:

Nice. That's about what I got on my 6s Plus before iOS 11, maybe 10.

But, your screen brightness is very low. Not sure that is where you keep it. I like mine bright. No reason to pay for all tech and not use it--lol

The brightness is one thing many people don't mention when the report battery usage. Thanks for showing yours.

Mine is auto brightness. I took this screenshot right before bed in a dark room.
