Not 100%..hell 60% I’m doing this but can you ‘buy’ for pickup at 6AM & then change how you pay for phone when you pick it up. I would have to exchange outside of 14 but Apple reps said they could likely get the approval for me. Seems only way to get one.

I found it at the target less than a mile from where I work. I checked their online inventory this afternoon during my last class and it said Limited stock. I didnt feel like calling, but I drive by there everyday on my way home. So I stopped and went in and asked and sure enough, they had them. The activation process was torture and the guy tried to act like he wouldn’t let me leave without signing up for Target’s cell phone insurance plan. I’m sure he fools some people with that, but I held my ground and won.
I did buy a case. It’s a blue one they have at target. It’s cute and I like it, but its not my forever case. I didnt have time to make it to the Apple store tonight. I will pick up a leather case tomorrow. I love theirs! So far I think I like the phone. Ive only had it up and running for a couple of hours. I am so glad I didnt have to re-sync my watch! What an improvement! And set up was fast since my 8 plus was right next to me. I am a little worried about battery life. Do you guys think I will get better battery life if I will just bite the bullet and set the phone up as new?
I’m glad I started this useless thread. It’s so nice to see people excited about their phones.

I’m finding battery life is about the same as my 7+.
I’ve got fast charging set up in my van and it’s awesome!
No need to worry about battery life if you get fast charging equipment.

Spot on, cant believe how much more natural it feels. I find myself ignoring home button on my iPhone Pro and swiping up to go home 🙂 But iPad has kind of prepared us for this

I was on a same situation as you. I woke up one morning and noticed available model for pic up at my local store. Believe it or not, by the time I was completing the reservation (few seconds later) it had already gone and was suggesting me the other alternative, to order on line. But I figured that few models available early morning for in store collection was an indication that they may also have some available in the store to sell right away to customers. So I went 10 minutes before the store opened. And one of the first to go in and ask if they have any iPhone X available. The Apple guy looked at his PDA and asked, colour and storage? Silver and 64 I said. Yes, he said. You are lucky. We have 1 of each models. So I ended up getting it.

Honestly, with Face ID this good already, and undoubtedly destined to get better with multiple sensors to cater for multiple orientations of the device, the home button is officially dead for me. Pick up the phone without worrying about finger placement, swipe up and boom, as long as you're looking at it, you're in. So much more convenient and natural feeling.

I don’t miss the home button at all and I certainly don’t miss the home button. And the. I’m not notch....what notch! It doesn’t bother me at all.
Same here, I don’t miss the home button. I enjoy the new way of doing things.
BTW: Like other had recommended, do check your local store. You can just use the apple.com. I just looked at Apple stores just now, all Apple stores near me have the X available. They have it everyday and most of the time and ran out by the end of the day.

I always thought apples leather case was a rip off and ugly.
The specialist at Apple that was helping me is gay. He always tells me I’m turning because I match my bands on my white ceramic with my attire.
So he walked over grabbed the product red case, took it out of the package and put it on the space gray X, scanned it and held the POS for my Apple Pay transaction.
Damn him!!!!

I haven't played with the X yet but I would imagine just touching the home button would be a split second quicker than swiping up. Does anyone with a X feel like it's noticeably slower pulling up the home screen?
So it is 3:33pm here and I am 45% battery. And I have had low power mode on all day because I’ve been worried about it. With my Plus I would probably still be in the 60s...
I have heard battery life gets better after a while. I have also heard setting the phone up as new is helpful. I’ve been restoring from back up for 3 years. Maybe it’s time...

Leave the power mode off. It will come on automatically when needed. Use your phone as you normally would, and enjoy it.
Give it a day before worrying. I restored mine from backup and battery life wasn't good the first day, but since then it has been fine.

I had my X for 8 days and comparing battery with my light usage (no push, low brightness, no background app refresh, etc) and some FT (30min-45min a day) I found the 8+ consistently got 1.5-2hrs more battery usage than the X, just my two cents.

If you have a large Photos and Music library its likely still re-syncing and downloading all of that. Definitely shouldn't be seeing that kind of drain under normal circumstances.
Yes, my photos and music will take a while I’m sure. I’ll give it a few days before I get sad. I love the phone in every other way though. Totally amazing.

Definitely the right move, you won't regret. Apple was able to take something we have been so used to using for 10 years and completely replaced it with something better. The gesture UI and how smooth everything works together is my favorite part about the X. You won't feel the need to go back, at all.

This is literally exactly how I felt & what I did. Bought an 8 Plus thinking I wouldn't want an X... but I wanted the X 🙂
I initially ordered an X online and then kept checking every day until I was able to pick one up... which I did.
Love the X way more than the 8 plus...

I recall saying the same thing about the battery. It’s seemed to have stabilized.
I use the 29w usb-c charger so it charges pretty quick.
The 8+ had similar battery drain.
Work I have 1 bar. Every phone in the past 2 years has drained the battery.
Other locations the X seems to be on par with the 8+
