It really is a fine thing to behold. It immediately went into its Product RED leather case and I didn't actually look at it until I was in bed last night and popped the case off. The dark stainless steel frame along with the black screen and "space gray" back is very luxurious looking.

I currently have the iPhone X, walked into a local Verizon store on launch day, looked around and no other customers were there, so I knew in my heart that they were probably sold out of them already (this was 2 hours after opening) asked an employee if they had any, to my surprise, they had about 10.....I was like WTF, i'll take one! Spent the next half an hour amazed that nobody else was there to pick one up! On another note, the iPhone X feels like a premium device, and I like that about it. It is heavier than my previous S8+ as well as the old 7+.....worth the upgrade 🙂

OMG, I'm glad I'm not the only one. I absentmindedly swipe up for home two or three times before I realize it's my iPad and it can't understand me. Then FaceID doesn't work either, and all I can think is "It's as if you don't even know me!"

Not sure if anyone else has mentioned this, but, check the Apple shop at 06:00 local time, daily. You should be able to place an order for same day pickup.

BUT, it MUST be at 06:00; by 06:05, the current inventory that is available, will be sold out...

i realized i wanted one monday night and was doing research from iphone 7 to x and even the galaxy s8 after droppin my iphone 6 and cracking the screen pretty good has the black splotch.

So I went on craigslist. Got one that evening. Brand new paid $1100 cash.

And i thought i would miss touchid but faceid has been flawless for me and i dont miss the button at all.

Looks like I am checking at 6am tomorrow morning.
 
Keep us posted. To put it into perspective...

- 27th Oct, I ordered an iPhone X, 256GB, Space Grey, at 03:04 Eastern (couldn't get to the website between 03:00 - 03:03)
- Delivery was due for 17th - 24th November
- 4th November, someone told me about the ordering at 06:00
- 5th November, I tried to order at 06:00, it stated that you already have an order on your line. I cancelled the order, waiting for the email from Apple to confirm the order was cancelled (that took 3 minutes)
- 5th November, 06:04, placed an order for an iPhone X, 256GB, Space Grey
- 5th November, 12:10, picked my iPhone X from Cumberland Mall, GA, Apple shop

Yeah, best thing I did; otherwise, I'd still be waiting for an iPhone X (not life changing, but, you get my point)...

Good luck on your venture.
If I may offer some friendly advice.
Be patient with X. coming from the 6s+, 7+ and 8+ the X feels tiny and typing has/was a challenge.
I am still not as comfortable typing as I was on the + but not having to lug the + brick along with me has been nice.

Also, I couldn't justify plastic wrapping the X. This time I went with the Apple Leather case and I have been very happy with it.
 
During the search, you have to enter your post code, and it will show you 12 shops in the region that has the model you're looking for.

Good luck; am here all bloody excited, and I already have one! Weird... 😉

Thank you for not saying the “P” word instead of luxurious. Lol. It’s so annoying hearing people say the P word, regurgitating an Apple commercial.

I generally get up at 4 am, even when I work from home.
The IT guy bought an 8+ and vowed not to get the X.
Me - 6:06 AM Hey idiot the X is available at Market Place.

IT- 8:10 AM hey I don't have my wallet can I borrow a credit card to do the IUP.
IT- 8:18 AM thank you so much!!!!!

Next day-
Me- hey go into the citizens one account and update the loan to your credit card.
IT- WHAT?
Me- Yeah when you used my CC it set up monthly charges to the card.
IT- Really?
Me- did you not read anything that was on the screen.
IT- dude I was blinded by excitement.
Me- on the floor laughing.


Another friend -
Oct 26 - I am no upgrading.
Nov 5 -I am not upgrading until I can walk into a store and pick one up.
Nov 12 - I am getting 2 today.

Me - I thought you weren't getting them until you could walk into the store.

My missus asked me on 26th Oct, are you setting your alarm? Nah, I'm not getting it. At 02:40, I was awake, and ready to purchase.

I know. I was on my iPad Air this morning and was like "Why can't you just be more like your little sister, X? She doesn't disappoint me so."
 
Well, I don’t feel creeped out. It’s ok. My husband does find me attractive. I don’t know about my students... they like my apple obsession though. Hahaha.

Just FYI guys, I found one at target of all places. Just this afternoon. It’s mine now. Buying it there was torture, but I have it anyway. I can’t wait to set it up after I am done with dinner and kids and stuff for the night. I love macrumors forums! 🙂

Congrats. You’re gonna love it.

I know they’re expensive but do yourself a favors and buy a fast charger like the Apple 29w and the usb to lightning cable.

Did you get a case? If so, which one.
