This is also another reason I still buy physical media of my Movies and TV shows. Streaming is nice, but having a physical copy is reliable and dependable. Also, for those who care about such things also provide the best picture and sound quality. (especially for HD, and 4K) titles.
Best quality is from Torrents!

Apple Cash still isn’t working correctly. Transactions are not reflecting in balance.

And to think I was About to move to “the cloud” 1000%. This proves to me that I just can’t trust the cloud that’s why I have all my data on my local mac

And your local mac is subject to hard drive failure, fire, theft, power outages, severe weather events and more.

But you're backed up, right? And you know that a backup is two copies, preferably in different locations or different media? (And one of those could be a cloud-based service.)

My Numbers spreadsheets no longer show in my iCloud Drive unless I use the Open dialog in the Numbers app. I can't locate the actual files on my drive. When I get that Open dialog up and right-click on a file, the "Show in Finder" option isn't there. Maybe I need to reboot...

Good luck explaining this to people. I had to spend an hour explaining why I couldn’t get the only photos of a woman’s dead daughter back from the hard disk of her computer she had never backed up and was told by the cloud opponents that it would only bring her pain.

I always tell people to make sure they have a local copy of all their data. You never know when the cloud will disappear, even if it's usually temporary.
Yep, and it's Apple, so software quality issues abound. You never know when your data might disappear, even when the cloud is fine.

Was this limited to the continent of North America? I didn't notice iCloud disturbances in Europe. Used Photos and iCloud drive without issues.

My guess is they intentionally took it down to make it more Robust against Russian Cyber Attacks, per Biden's warning to top CEOs earlier today !

My reminders aren’t syncing even at this point. I had to mark a reminder completed on my IPhone, iPad and Mac.

I rebooted all my devices and then created a new reminder on each of them and the newly created ones are not syncing. Two showed up on iCloud.com, but didn’t sync down to the other devices. One didn’t show up on ICloud.com.

Basically reminders are FUBARed right now.

This really has the whiff of a cyber attack. Especially since Apple is one of the big tech companies that pulled out of RU.

If so, it’s pretty weak. So for a few hours people had to use a different map program and couldn’t get their contacts. Well la de dah.

People in Russia are fighting over bags of sugar in the supermarket and the response is I couldn’t stream the new Jimmy Allen song for a few hours.

Oh the horror. 🙄

Have I mentioned how idiotic support is. They told me to turn off iCloud Reminders and turn it back on. I told them that seemed like a bad idea, but they said it would fix the issue.

I figured I’d do that on my Mac in case things went wrong, which of course they did. None of my reminders came back. The console just keeps showing “Error fetching database changes “ over and over again.

In the mean time, I found iCloud tabs aren’t working either. I found some reminders do sync, but it takes several minutes to do so. Basically even though Apple marked everything as resolved, there are still problems.

Edit:

The reminders finally came back on my Mac. Syncing still isn’t working reliably though as after 2 new test reminders I created on my iPhone and iPad synced to each other after about 5 minutes, I deleted them on my iPhone. That was over an hour ago and they are still on my iPad. They are not in iCloud though.

The problem seems to be with connecting to and syncing data with iCloud based on the errors I saw in my Mac console. The connection was rejected dozens of times before it worked.
