This is a disgrace...!

I cannot upgrade my Mac to Lion as almost every plugin i use daily is incompatible with Lion... with no updates in sight!

Why on Earth is iCloud compatible with a older version of Windows (Vista) and not with a x.x.2 version old APPLE OS!!!!!!!

I use mobileme to sync my calendar with my iOS devices... does this mean i will have to find an alternative service to keep this sync alive??????

Truly disgusted Apple.

Simple, they're trying to force you to use Lion which is a really bad policy IMHO.

DEFINITELY wait (and at the very very least read all the available info including help stuff) before activating iCloud and especially migrating MM accounts and Apple IDs.

My AppleID is different from my MobileMe email and when I try to turn on Mail in iCloud using my existing MobileMe email it tells me that name is already taken and I need to choose a new one. Doesn't seem like they will allow existing MobileMe to be migrate to a different iCloud AppleID.

Anyone find a way to do this ?

Thanks!

Rumors are that they are working on a way to combine accounts. This would help me as well.

Any idea on how I should approach my situation?

I have my old 3GS. I plan on giving it to my Mom. I have two new iPhone 4S's coming.

3 iPhones - one Apple ID

What do I do about iCloud? Can we only have one account???

Does anyone know about back to my mac? Can we use this with icloud yet? I haven't been able too because my airport extreme asks for a mobile me account instead of just an apple id.

I'm transitioning to iCloud but have a group of family accounts that aren't ready to upgrade their tech yet (they are waiting on their iPhone 4S orders to arrive).

Do I have to wait for them - since I'm the master account or will they each be able to access MobileMe individually to transition over after I've already made the switch?

Anyone with experience on this?

I just don't want their accounts to get erased or something just because I'm eager to check out iCloud.

I just did this. No you don't have to wait, but it advises you to remove add now before you transition. They will stay mobile me.

What will they do with iWork.com:apple::apple::apple:

Where is iCloud support in iWork for Mac? It looks like they'll support iWord on iPad, but there have been no updates for the Mac? I'm I going to have to go to the web browser to get my Pages files between Pages on the iPad and the Mac?

"Macs must be running 10.7.2"

Confirmed. No SL love. Shame.

Although they could still add support in the future. And they will want to if there's enough public demand for it and adoption of iCloud is slow.

Not to mention if they don't support 10.6 they're not getting $25 annually for iTunes Match from any 10.6 users.

You've got to have the absolute latest all the time. Snow Leopard is ancient. Bleeding edge or nothing.

"Well, digidesign hasn't updated their software to work with Lion yet". Sucks for you. Should have been using Logic.

I'm totally kidding. I think it's not too cool that you have to have the latest software in all honesty. I figured this would EASILY integrate with Snow Leopard since Lion hasn't been out that long. I thought Leopard would even work. Oh well. :(

This is what I'm worried about: my wife and each have our own MobileMe account, and want to keep things that way -- I don't want to be synching to her calendars or bookmarks and vice-versa. However, we use my Apple ID for all app and media purchases -- obviously we don't want to buy things twice. So what now with the iCloud update?

I still cannot believe they dare to call this thing iCloud without any kind of iDisk support. Its a pity to still rely on DropBox

Lack of Snow Leopard support really makes this suck. I have all CD Intel machines, which effectively walls me out of this garden.

It sucks even more that I have been a .Mac/MobileMe subscriber for years.

I sent Tim Cook an email about my concerns, but have yet to receive a response. Not that I expected one...

Not good for me

I have 5 Macs, only one of which (my work mac which I don't own) can upgrade to lion. One is even an early intel mini mac that can't. (Only core 2 duo intels can, it's a core duo)

So I'm going to lose my ability to sync all of my computer together, which was working perfectly. Most importantly of which was keychains. I can put a password in one computer, it would sync to all, so keeping track of keychains was a breeze. I do everything on the web and keeping track of all those keychains was imposable. I'm sure there are third party options, but I don't really trust other companies to have access to all of my passwords.

I'm going to lose Idisk which I used as my way to access all of my paperwork (I scan everything into a paperless system) where ever I am.

I invested a lot in these computer 4-5 years ago. They are still working fine, apple is just removing the software that tied them all together. I looked into how much it would cost to replace all of my computers with newer versions, over 5,000 dollars even going with lower end options.

Not happy with the iCloud update, I'll be waiting until the last posable moment to transition.

I am excited about ISO 5 in general though, my iPhone 4 will be happy.

There are so many reasons to avoid the transition. I've got a MobileMe family account, so it makes it even more complicated.

-Lion requirement. I'm using SL for business and there are too many apps that aren't ready for prime time just yet. Plus I don't think any of my family members Macs are on Lion either.
-Loss of sync services mentioned above (Dashboard Widgets, Dock Items, Keychain, Mail Accounts, Mail Rules, Signatures, and Smart Mailboxes, and Mac OS X Preferences)
-Lack of support for more than one Apple ID.
-iOS5 requirement (expected, but with the family account and all the affected iOS devices, it'll turn me into a helpdesk)

I'm sure there are more. Wow, this is going to suck at some point.
