Does anyone think this image and the general description of iCloud drive is super misleading?

It is. That's why there are so many people here asking for the iCloud Drive app.

icloud.com seems to have icloud drive working

(sorry removed screenshot due to my name appearing in it)

I hope so! but I don't think it will work like that on iOS, I think it is only within apps that you get access to iCloud drive

That image from apple's site is showing the document picker for iCloud drive files will look.

But it's pretty damn deceiving.

I agree.
I thought is was going to be a Dropbox like alternative.
:mad::mad::mad:

Me too! I was looking forward to dumping my dropbox and google drive and just doing it through Apple! Funny too that some out there who try to review it describe it as dropbox. So even them themselves are confused!!

it is like a dropbox if you go to icloud.com or use OSX yosemite.

however it doesn't seem to be the case for iOS 8... maybe the app is delayed (i'm hoping)

There is no app. It's just a document picker when you want to open or create something in an iCloud compatible app.

I'm sooooooooo disappointed! I was planning on saving some money by cancelling my Dropbox.
I even increased my Apple storage plan!
HHHHHHHHHHH

I am trying to work this out as I go. I must say it is poorly communicated by apple themselves. But I think there won't be a need for an app on iOS. If you can access iCloud drive from any app, say a pdf annotator or whatever, perhaps there is no need for a stand alone app.

That's true. And we may even possibly see some third party app just to view iCloud drive files.

look guys, you can access icloud drive like dropbox via windows 8, icloud.com and OSX yosemite, the only thing missing is the iOS 8 app.

here's some screenshots

yeah and ios won't need an app just use the utility your going to use to edit said file. may need to wait for all those utilities to be updated.

It seems no apps have updated yet, and couldn't this get messy if some users are on "old iCloud" while some are on "iCloud drive"?

Add me to the list of users who thought this would be a true Dropbox replacement. I was imagining an app on my phone where I could view and browse all those iCloud Drive documents I uploaded. I imagined showing someone a video I created and saved onto iCloud Drive to avoid having to compress it- email it - etc. sounds like that won't be the case (so far)
