Incredibly disappointing. Boring graphics, no gameplay, terrible controls.

It's not even a game, it practically plays itself. Glad it was so cheap otherwise I'd feel really ripped off.

The ipad/iphone is never going to develop into a proper gaming platform if companies start pushing out this kind of simplistic casual stuff. I mean I almost feel insulted... it's that bad.

It's actually a real game, just not quite the same genre you might be expecting at first. Casuals don't play games where you have to juggle timed dodges, perfect reloads, aiming and targeting, and weapon management at the same time. That's too much for them.

Downloading incredibly slowly for me in UK. I am on a 20Mb line and even though I don't expect to get that full speed all the time I don't think that I should have to wait 4 hours for this.

I am tempted to download it through iTunes first but I keep chickening out when it asks for my credit card details. I would rather not pay a second time. Surely it should check whether I've paid before it asks for credit card details?

For me, the fact that it's on rails is a deal-breaker for me - all the technical brilliance in the world and stunning visuals can't deflect from the fact that on-rails games are simply not immersive enough for me
If Apple are serious about iOS as a gaming platform, they have got to release a game controller for it - games like this show that the hardware is more than capable of handling top class games but the touch screen is a massive hinderance.

It won't charge you again, I've downloaded things twice so many times, it never charges twice.

wow do we really need another rail shooter. the GFX are not really all that impressive either. they are all static (meaning the lighting/shadows you see on the walls and floor are apart of the texture image) not being rendered real time, the kind of stuff you would expect to see in UT99 or the original half-life time frame.

Would have been great if it wasn't a rail shooter. Technically it's very impressive, but as a game it is nothing special and becomes boring surprisingly quickly.

This was horrible. Total waste of 2 bucks. The graphics aren't even as impressive as Epic Citadel, and I would say the gameplay isn't much better either. At least in Citadel you could walk around...

Epic Citadel was only a demo. Wait until the actual game comes out before comparing anything.

The only things that really save this game are its graphics and price. Everything else is just bad. Gameplay that lasts half an hour, no way to control your character and frustrating movements...
Very bad.

So wait, you're saying that Epic Citadel, which had free roaming and better graphics in the demo will end up as a rail based shooter with worse graphics in the full game ? Is that your counter point ?

The guy you were responding to is right, this seems half assed on iD's part.

Same. It's a bit more like a carnival shooter, but with dodging controls. The time-crisis kind of analogy combined with the Gears of War reload mechanic kind of works here. It's almost the main aspect that takes skill, in this game. Outside of aiming. It took me a few plays of the 3rd mission just to clear it without continues.

It's quite short, though. Which kind of helps one understand why it is being sold so cheap. I also understand that this is a single chip A4 architecture driving all of this, as well. It's not going to compete with high end gaming consoles and PCs, but for something as fast as it moves and with these graphics, one would be hard pressed to find another portable phone-sized system that claims better.

Right now, this one is fully playable and has your character moving quicker than the Citadel demo. With enemies, combat, and the like.

The Citadel demo may look a bit better (though it's missing just about any realtime shadows throughout the entire demo where at least I can see self-casted shadows in the gameshow host in this one) but it's just running a nice empty town with none of that other stuff in it.

It's a disappointment if anything less than a straight up FPS would disappoint you. To a degree, I like how this plays because it seems most true FPS game attempts on the touch screen tend to feel a bit clumsy with the movement controls.

I thought the gfx, gameplay, and controls were pretty great. It's a rail line shooter.

Did you even try tilting to aim? Sounds like you didn't play the tutorial.

Also, you realize you're playing the game on a phone, right?

I just cant believe someone would hate on this game so much. It's amazing and everyone I've shown it to so far agrees.
