If it were me, I'd go for the 12.9 one for the drawing and handwriting space. I also think with some kind of case that props it up to reading level I could use it as a lap device. I've certainly been eying it lately.

After going back and forth between the new 9.7 and 12.9 Pros, I ended up ordering the 12.9 today. I'm a 6'2" guy so I'm not terribly worried about the weight of it, but it will be interesting to see how I deal with the size. In the end, the extra screen real estate was calling to me (along with the falling prices) so I bit the bullet and ordered it.

LOL since when did your height mean anything to do with the weight of an iPad? o_O

Haha - I guess I was trying to point out I'm not a small guy so I don't worry about the weight. How about I weigh 200lbs - is that better!

Not really :p Height and weight don't always = strength, but I get your point, i'm just busting your balls.

Actually the taller you are and the longer your arms the greater the distance between your elbow and shoulder to the iPad - making it feel heavier than if you had shorter arms.

Having long fingers makes it feel lighter though.

what iOS version did your iPP12.9 ship with?

thanks

On the phone a ton but

Sped up animations, black background menus instead of all white UI, more granular night mode, kodi a media player to play stuff over my own from nas, virtual home double tap Touch ID to lock device (not even press just finger tap) , activator -- assign gestures to anything I use force touch to turn my lights on and off from bottom left anywhere-- lock or home screen, color profiles to tweak screen temperature to look more neutral white than tinted white), slide up to get out of an app or tap Touch ID instead of just press home button..

I'm positive there's others but away from the iPad right now. I probably take them for granted

Less needed on tablet but still nice and appreciated. I like having control. I've done it since first gen iPhone day1 of out of box. Customizing is the perfect experience for me

Almost certainly keeping my air2 if my 12.9 isn't on ios9.1

Still might no matter what anyways we'll see

Just ordered a 12.9 skb open box

Best Buy open box has been great. The open box pencil looked untouched and the pen itself was in untampered wrap

I say I want to keep air2 for those times I want smaller but we'll see no rush on that. Still in experimenting phase and digging it. Especially browsing and watching videos

Put up my 2nd 12.9 order. Wanted to get two and pick the less warm screen as that's my preference but the other looks alright too (went with two knowing the deal may never surface again and not dealing with Genius Bar purgatory). Other ones going on Craigslist.

The deal doesn't look to be back up for me?

Oh sorry I should have clarified.

After slight hesitation when the deal was up I put in two orders. The deal appears to be done.

Got the orders in last Friday

Tried the 9.7 because of the deal, it's going back!

Hate the cramped smart keyboard, it leans forward too easily, and the pencil seems to have more friction against the screen

The contrast/black levels/colors on 9.7 were quite nice though indeed, but 12.9 is no slouch. True tone seems like a bust to me, made the screen piss yellow in my living room, without night mode or whatever it's called on too

Also the cameras are sweet but how often I'll use a tablet's camera, I would say not often historically if at all really

Ymmv I'm a 12.9 belieber

What 9.7 deal are you referring to?
