and you'll hate it, you won't want to re-invest money into the same apps you already bought, and you'll go back to iOS after realizing how ****** android still is.

I am pretty sure people will be very disappointed with iPhone 5.
4 inch display is not enough for me.

I am migrating to Galaxy S3 or Galaxy Note 2.

I will switch to Android/ Samsung if this is the next iPhone. It looks really dated/ old and small now and i'm getting tired of the iPhone 4, iPhone 4s and possibly iPhone 5 looking all the same. No thanks.

iOS6 looks old too.

So you will give up timely, free, compatible iOS updates; all of the apps your paid for; all of the tight integration with your media and your Apple account, and a platform highly regarded for it's smoothness and user experience.

And you will accept a malware-ridden platform, with less apps, fragmentation problems, incompatible apps, OS updates that are promised but never delivered, poor UI response times, and you will have to buy all of your apps over again (assuming they even exist on the platform).

All because the iPhone looks dated to you? Well I guess we all have our priorities.

and they will still sell millions and millions and millions. thats million with the mill

Nothing is going to change.

People are always upset with the iPhone, iOS, Android, and stuff in general.

For a certain amount of people on these boards their chosen phone is a toy. When that toy no longer shines enough to keep interest they move on. My iPhone to me is essential because I've got a Mac and I use the native calendar, contacts and other communication tools. Thus the iPhone isn't really a toy to me and I don't need it to have huge UI changes. I just need to be able to rely on my data being preserved.

I'm certainly not going to sneeze at the screen increasing to 4" if that's the case.

Why is everyone saying it looks like the 4/4S? It has a bigger screen, new dock connector, new speakers, different sides, and a redesigned back. WHAT ELSE COULD YOU POSSIBLY CHANGE ABOUT A RECTANGLE WITH A GIANT SCREEN OCCUPYING NEARLY THE ENTIRETY ONE SIDE?

I show my wife the "leaked" pictures lol she just said why tha **** will i want to upgrade to a longer version of the same

This.

Apple doesn't change the design of products to make them different. They change their designs only if it makes them better. Change just for the sake of change is something Apple has never done, and anyone who thinks otherwise has not been following Apple for very long. The new design wasn't thought of and created just so people would buy the new iPhone because Apple wants more money, no, the new design is a design that had many prototypes built around it, and is now a very refined design that will truly be better than the designs of the past iPhones before it. That's how Apple does things.

Why hasn't people complained about the Mac OS either? It has the same basic UI from the 80s?

Apple still didn't change it now, iOS will look the way it does well into 20 years, but with improvements over time. Expect this interface even with a holographic iPhone that you project from your eye.

EDIT: apparently a fake picture

Would love to see Apple make a more sleek looking design. I can really see them getting rid of the space above and below the external antenna, like in the renderings... but glass/metal back on the iPhone is kind of awkward for Apple. It's not simple, nor is it sleek. I'm sure they'll have their explanation and everyone will be like, "Oh," and they'll be forgiven. I'm all for a form that has some relevance to function, I find that fascinating.

That said, did Apple screw themselves when they went with an external antenna? Furthermore, to accommodate a headphone jack, they need to make the antenna at least as wide as a headphone jack and I'm assuming they'd like to keep the antennas a little wider. Does this prevent Apple from making a curved back or a unibody design? I think so. I personally don't have any qualms about the 4/4S design not being curved, but I think without the idea of this external antenna, we'd see a slimmer unibody (think MBA except not metal) design.

My bad, thought the vid was legit.

and whats the join date got to do with it?
i figured you were the guy who made the video. Sorry, should have done a bit more digging before posting that part. :)
