According to the iPhone fanbase, the iPhone is perfect size the way it is. So the answer to the question would be "neither".

iPhone users have always maintained that anything bigger than an iPhone is stupid, unnecessary, wont fit in a pocket, thumb can't reach all 4 corners, etc.

Or is this another case of "it's stupid and unnecessary until the iPhone gets it, then it isn't stupid anymore".

I would like the bigger phone but I would stay on 4 inch phone but then again not APPLE 4 inch (LONG).

The minute I hear phablet and apple is the day I jump ship to WP8.

No you won't.

As far as the screen sizes, I'd have to hold it in my hand to decide which I wanted. I'm still on an iPhone 4, and whatever iPhone comes next is what I'm getting. It's an upgrade year for me!

Well it is going to happen there will be a larger screen but that does not mean you have to buy it as they will likely still make the 4" screens, too.

But if it just can be, there will be a Nokia in your future!:p

Just release 2 models like this go round. A std 4" and a 4.7; no sense in annoying the faithful when you can make both camps happy.

Cheers,

I could do a small bezeled 4.7" iPhone. I really wouldn't want more than that. I'd be even happier with a thin bezeled 4.3-4.5". 5"+ is just too big. I used to think 4.3-4.5 was too big, and it was when the EVO was around. Luckily, the thinner profile of modern phones and minimal bezels make a 4.5-4.7" device quite usable. 5+ just starts getting too big to be comfortable in my opinion.

4.7? 5.3? That's just silly talk. I don't have enough pairs of cargo pants and shorts to own a phone that big. How do hipsters rock those huge phones in their tiny little skinny jeans, anyway?

Actually the 5/5s screen is big enough for me. Heck, my 4s is big enough for me. It's a phone not a tablet. When I want a bigger screen, I break out the iPad.

I've never gotten the screen size obsession.

I think you have to be careful and not to generalize. There are millions of iPhone users out there. Some like it as is, some want smaller and some want bigger. But this whole isheep thing is getting kind of played out in my opinion.

I personally hope they make a 4.7 and a 5.7 option. I think Apple can make a 4.7 and not change the external dimensions that much. But I would opt for the 5.7.

None. I think the majority of users like the 4 inch display, it's just the phablet users are more vocal about a larger display.

If Apple jumps to 4.7 I will stick with my 5s for as long as possible, and then I will find another phone that is not stupid-sized. If they do decide to go Android-jumbo, I hope they will keep the 4" as an option.

I guess you weren't around prior to the iPhone 5 releasing?

MANY people on here cried that they didn't wanna see an increase I screen size.

Then you see them waiting days before the launch for the phone.

I can see this happening again with the bigger phone.

Now: ew no apple. This is perfect.

Release day: omg I was wrong. This is awesome!!!!!!!11!1!1!1!1!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Samsung fans: lol losers.

I concur completely. I'm retiring my 4S tomorrow with a 5S, but I don't have any problem with the screen size of the 4S.

I really do NOT want to be forced into some giant screen android wannabe Apple iPhone that's listening to a vocal minority.

Steve Jobs would NOT have done this.

Igzo

4.8" 1080p IGZO display and 20nm 64bit - A8 processor sounds more like it for the iPhone 6 to me, not a 4.7" display. Very thin bezels, fingerprint sensor, great battery life, sounds like a HIT phone. :apple:

5.7" is a tablet as far as I'm concerned.

4.7" is as large as I'd ever want in a phone and will be useful for browsing etc.

Oh and whatever screen size it is, I hope it's the new flexible type that doesn't smash to pieces if dropped.

I can't say until I see it.

Would depend on overall design. Right now I'd rather have 4.7 then 5.x though. I hope they do 4.5 if anything.
