If this is the iPhone 5 then I definitely won't be getting it. I hate the square finish of the 4/4S but loved my curvy 3GS, it just fits the shape of your hand so much better. I might even end up with the GS 3.

I have said this several times and I will say it again. The entire back of the phone CAN NOT be made of metal. NFC will not function if the back is all metal.

If there is a portion that is non-metallic NFC will work, but if you want it to continue to work, you will not be able to by a case that covers that portion with any sort of metal. Doesn't matter how thin the metal is.

I think it'd be cool if the entire back was metal, EXCEPT for the apple on the back. That would be some other material that would allow NFC to work. So essentially the apple logo would become useful

don't care for the back; looks tacky imo. Make it a solid color/texture, or at least the way the iphone 3g was with the black part at the bottom if they must.

yea and people don't buy hand bags, cars, sunglasses, shoes, etc etc etc for looks. Nothing wrong with considering the aesthetics of a product when making a purchase as long as the specs of it are decent as well.

you completely missed the point...

And 5 looks nothing like the 4s? I assume you are talking about the renderings we have seen? To some degree i guess it can be left to interpretation, but saying they look nothing like the 4s is a gross overstatement imo.

gg

So basically the iPhone 4 design with a boring gray stripe on the back but not on the front? Heck no.

----------

Makes the s3 look like a plastic piece of garbage that china made.

Most Apple products are made in China.

----------

Innovation has nothing at all to do with appearance.
Innovation is about functionality.

Why would it have nothing to do with appearance? Does this mean that paint artists cannot be innovative?

Broadcast NFC through front.
Broadcast NFC through edges.
Make that cutout portion glass and the edges aluminum.

NFC will need to use the back so you can use the screen for purchases or something.

Not saying apple won't find a way, it will just be trickier then just moving it.

I hope they don't put the headphone jack on the bottom... I like to leave my iPhone standing up in my cup-holder in my car with the cable going into the headphones port when driving around.

If it's pretty close to the renders, or not, i'm still gonna get it anyway! I don't think Apple is gonna release something so ugly that nobodys gonna want to get it. I've had iPhones since the 3g and love every model, just can't afford every model. I still have the 4, so i've been anxiously awaiting the 5. Really, if you want a bigger screen, the phone would need to be a little bigger (taller in this case). Don't like the look of the back, put a case on it. I like the look, but I always put a case on all my phones, just a little challenge to find a nice case that i don't mind looking at everyday (still loving the Magpul!)
btw, not to sound like an idiot, but what is LTE?

This is kind of how I feel. I kept my 3GS when the brick-like 4 came out and only bought a used 4 when the 4S came out (because the 3GS was on it's last legs). I was really hoping that Apple would move on from the hard edged brick design this time, but it's not looking good.

Damn the One X for only having 16gigs!
