The iPhone in terms of design wouldn’t improve as such because business managers don’t design products and Cook isn’t a designer. From a business perspective things might change if a replacement decided the products pricing was outdated. If it meant lower prices to a premium but realistic level then that would be great for us as consumers.

I don’t care who works for Apple as long as we get great products at realistic prices etc. I’m glad I was one of many who voted with my wallet this year and bought last years iPhone lol. Not enough changed in this years lineup and Apple felt a very slight pinch despite obviously being happy with a decent profit overall.

Scott should've been CEO from the beginning, he was much more of a natural successor to Steve than Tim is.

Tim's doing fine but this ain't the company it used to be.
Jobs disagreed about who should be ceo. That Apple isn’t the company it used to be I see as a positive not a negative/

No.

You cannot blame the current state of things at Apple on CEO only.

If he gets fired, others responsible will probably stay. You are not gonna solve anything that way.

I know you people when things go bad, you want to see someone's head on a plate. But, that never solved anything.

Anyone else believing this is just a cheap excuse?

You can only defy gravity for so long.

Smartphones sales plateaued last year and are clearly in decline in 2019. Apple is obviously trying to find new use cases like Animoji and Portrait Mode, but it's like desperate TV manufacturers pushing 3D and curved TVs - most consumers aren't interested.

China is the first market to drop because it's the only really competitive market with strong domestic competition. The rest of the countries in the world don't have their own brands. Devices from Huawei already check off all the features below. Why would consumers pay $1,099 for an iPhone XS Max?

  • Dual-SIM
  • 6.4" display
  • Thin-bezel
  • Affordable

Apple lacks real innovation while other brands have caught up and are starting to take their toll in markets around the world.

They are all brilliant causes and I’m not against him supporting those. Bill Gates does a lot of work for good causes and doesn’t get scorned for doing so.

I dont agree with Cooks politics, but i would have more respect for him if he focused on this stuff when he stands down or leaves Apple.
Gates is no longer CEO of microsoft big difference.

I don't see what this has to do with anything relevant to how iPhones are selling.
Kinda seems like you just have your own issues with his personal life. I wonder if you'd feel differently if he supported causes that you agree with.

I have invested a lot of money buying Apple products.
I have issues with the fact he’s abusing his position as CEO of arguably the most successful company of all time, to further his agenda.
All he needs to focus on is making great products it’s pretty simple.

These guys do have spare time too though even if they are working for a company. I hate the way Apple are taking the mick out of us on pricing but I am fully behind the causes Cook stands for. The fact the Apple brand creates more awareness for them is a huge plus for me. I do wish Apple started working on something game changing again rather than charging us over a grand for an iPhone you can open with your face though.

Again, I feel that your views on the matter are perhaps influenced by personal biases, if I’m reading your sentiments correctly.

Ultimately, he’s free to do what he wants with his time, money, and the authority that he has been granted/earned, and I still don’t see how it’s at all relevant to the quality of Apple’s products. And to tell the truth, I think his “politics” creates more good PR for Apple than you might realize. I think you’re misplacing blame because of your own personal feelings, but we'll probably have to agree to disagree about this.

I do not see how any cell phone will make a giant leap in features until we see a giant leap in technology. Battery and screen tech have not improved. There is some stuff on the horizon but it will be a few years before we see anything to get excited about.

The problem is lack of vision. Steve Jobs had a great vision. Tim Cook not so, just like John Scully, if you remember who he is. He almost ran Apple to the ground.

I think it was much more easy to have "a vision" when iPhones were just starting out. Those days are gone and the big leaps in technology have slowed down with all the cell phone makers.
