Seriously, this question hasn't been answered yet? I logged on this morning for this.

I know. Gotta be someone with an ATT microSIM to put into the LTE Verizon iPad to see if HSPA works.

Crazy no one has posted yet, considering some Walmart's sold a few iPads are midnight and it's 830AM eastern time, past the 30 minute official Apple retail store launch.

If no one posts, I will get my Verizon iPad LTE when I get off work later this afternoon and put my ATT microSIM into the iPad to see if it works.

Also I will put my Verizon Galaxy Nexus unlimited LTE microSIM into iPad and see if I get LTE/3G CDMA data off the microsim. Verizon doesn't audit LTE microSIM in tablets (that are from the LTE phones). So that would give me maximum flexibility to keep my Verizon LTE ipad.

My Verizon 4g is out for delivery and I'm on my AT&T iPad 2 so if no one does it by the time I get home at 3 I'll do it.

ATT audits iPhone data accounts IF you put your ATT iPhone microSIM into any "tablet" device and try to use the data.

In some cases they may disable data for the entire month.

I reserved Verizon... I mean yeah I'm on AT&T already with my iPhone 4S and I think HSPA+ is fine. I can also have both companies since Verizon lets tethering for free. But still, let's hope it works.

Is it confirmed that putting an ATT iPhone SIM into the ATT iPad will get you into trouble?

People who tried it last year reported that it worked, but then got warning messages from AT&T about it.

Where did you get the above information? Anywhere official?

Omg hurry lol... I can probably still change to AT&T. I just want a company that offers good LTE service... I feel as if AT&T at least HSPA+ and 3Gb for $30

Ok AT&T shows up on status bar and 4g buy says I'm not sighed up for data service. Investigating further ...

Could someone explain the SIM card business to me? I ordered a 65 GB Verizon iPad. My previous iPad 2 was a Verizon model and no card of any kind was needed to get it connected to Verizon. You just set up an account.

Will I need some kind of card to get the new one to work? Where would I get that?

Your newer VZ 4G ipad will come with a LTE Sim card from Verizon, most likely preinstalled. Like anything CDMA, the previous models did not use this but LTE does.

I'm not sure how they will activate though but there will probably be an option to transfer your account and they you will be good to go. If LTE is in your area, be prepared for some serious speed increases.

aka777 thanks...so I should just be able to activate directly from the iPad like before and pick a plan? The plans would include the faster access if in your area without an extra fee correct?

I think we do have 4G here...

Sorry that I'm so dumb about this--not a cell phone fanatic...

This is awesome. If ATT shows up, the card is being accepted.

So Verizon iPad HSPA is truly unlocked for 3G on ATT's 850/1900 bands.

This will give us users maximum flexibility.

The Verizon LTE ipad is "carrier locked" for Verizon's LTE network.

The ATT LTE ipad is "carrier locked" for ATT's LTE network.

The question is does the Verizon LTE ipad support unlocked sim slot for ATT's "fake 4g/HSPA" network also.

4G is very confusing to the consumers. LTE isn't even considered 4G either....it's all marketing but LTE is much faster than HSPA

If AT&T and 4G show up at the top, then I think it's safe to say that AT&T HSPA+ works on the Verizon iPad, but it would still be useful to know if the data plans can be purchased on the device.

I stopped at the AT&T store yesterday to pickup an iPad MicroSIM. As soon as Fedex delivers my Verizon iPad later today, I'll report back.

Not a problem.

Activation should work directly via the ipad. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4571

Once activated, if 4G LTE is available in your area, it will work straight away.

Please do run some speed tests as well and report back.

I am not too sure if you will be able to purchase data plans for AT&T via the VZ ipad. Probably not though, as it has been configured from Verizon and gets too messy doing so.

However, nothing stops someone getting AT&T to activate a new prepaid service and then simply popping the Sim in the VZ ipad.

IT WORKS!!!!!!!

If you use an AT&T iPad SIM card in a Verizon iPad, it will work on HSPA+ but not on LTE. AT&T's LTE runs on 709Mhz and 1715Mhz. Verizon's LTE runs on 782Mhz. That said, below is a list of dropdowns contingencies for US networks.

AT&T iPad with AT&T SIM card:
4G LTE on the 700Mhz and 1700Mhz systems
drops down to HSPA+ on 850Mhz and 1900Mhz
drops down to EDGE on 850Mhz and 1900Mhz

Verizon iPad with AT&T SIM card:
no 4G LTE
drops down to HSPA+ on 850Mhz and 1900Mhz
drops down to EDGE on 850Mhz and 1900Mhz

AT&T iPad with Verizon SIM card:
no 4G LTE
no 3G
no 2G

Verizon iPad with Verizon SIM card:
4G LTE on the 700Mhz systems
drops down to EVDO
drops down to 1xRTT

AT&T iPad with T-mobile SIM card:
no 4G LTE
no 3G
drops down to EDGE on 850Mhz and 1900Mhz

Verizon iPad with T-mobile SIM card:
no 4G LTE
no 3G
drops down to EDGE on 850Mhz and 1900Mhz
