Greetings and Welcome to 2011, where we live in a world economy, a global marketplace, and phones like the Galaxy S II which I have had for over one month, are indeed current models.

Just because they are not carried at the local mall means nothing.

If you actually read the first post you would have seen that I asked which phone you would pick if you had to choose TODAY.

Most Americans go the subsidized route and don't have an extra $800 to burn importing a galaxy s II which is why I asked what you would realistically purchase today if the iPhone didn't exist...

The Motorola Triumph. It's not out yet, but will be soon.
Honestly, I think the iPhone is one of the better phones out there and that's why I'm paying for it with AT&T. It's worth having. If I couldn't have an iPhone, then there isn't much point paying the same price bill for something I don't like as much.

With the Motorola Triumph (Virgin Mobile), unlimited data, text, and 300 minutes for $25 a month is an awesome deal. Plus, you can install something from the Android marketplace to allow for free tethering. Virgin Mobile runs on Sprint's network so it's mediocre. Good enough for my needs at least. It even has the similar specs to the HTC Thunderbolt (snapdragon, etc).

How is that so cheap, without a contract no less?

The best I can do in Canada seems to be $71.77/mo (including tax) for 1GB data, 200 minutes, unlimited text & caller id/voicemail (only 3 saved messages), all on a 3 year contract.

Don't assume, that doesn't suit you well. I did indeed read the post quite carefully as I read all posts.

I commented from MY perspective which is what one does, when on a public forum of opinion.

Don't hate me for getting a stellar education, working very hard, and rising to the level of having a high disposable income.

Therefore if I happen to have the resources to order whatever I want, whenever I want, from wherever I want, that's my prerogative.

Life is what you put into it. We all have choices.

I would most likely use either the HTC Desire or the HTC Wildfire. I kinda like them both. :)

Just so I can play Bounce!

Possibly the Nexus S. Unlocked, boot loader not locked, allowing modifications without TOO much hassle.

Whatever the flagship Nokia phone running Windows Phone 7 will be this fall.

Done with iOS as iOS5 doesnt bring anything exciting. I would go back to iOS though if I wasnt using WP7.

Was a long time supporter of WebOS as well, but based on the Touchpad review and history of the platform as a whole, my hope in WebOS is almost dead. We'll see though, HP has alot of money...

And as for Android... LOL Android.
