My wife is upgrading from a 15 Pro Max. A perfectly good phone that works just fine that for whatever reason she saw the new one has gold and it was like hey we need that. Sure why not spend $1200 just for a new color of a phone that you’re gonna slap a case on anyway?

Hey, happy wife happy life bro. It’s a small price to pay to make marriage work. 😁

Upgrading from a 14 Pro Max, same memory (256g). I’ve upgraded every couple of years for a while now and my carrier (o2, in the UK) enables me to upgrade at no cost every 90 days so other than the hassle of buying new cases (I have two - one for regular use and on for the bicycle) don’t see any reason not to upgrade.

The improved camera is of most interest but not bothered about other features on the whole.

First time she asked if she could upgrade i said no. And i could already tell by the look on her face she knew my no would eventually turn into a yes. Such an evil look on her face. An apple ad came on showing the gold iphone and she’s over there “aww…i bet all the other girls are gonna get the gold iphone and look so fancy and be matching with their new gold Apple Watches”. So naturally, she’s getting a new Apple Watch as well

expensive, but cheaper than marriage counseling lol

13 Pro Max 128GB to 16 Pro Max 256GB. I went into a mobile store to look at the SS S24U and Pixel XL, didn't blow me away. then I put my 13 side by side with the 15 Pro and noticed that my screen was noticably muted. Looking forward to a vibrant screen again. Also, my phone is starting to lag a bit, barely noticable but it's there.

Finally, I've been content with the 13 Pro for more than a couple years. Prior I'd be swapping them out every couple.

I'm upgrading to a 16 Pro Max 512gb from a 14 Pro Max 256gb... I'm sure the Apple Intelligence will be neat, perhaps handy even, but my number 1 reason for upgrading is the camera. My friend's 15 Pro puts my pictures/videos to shame.
Upgrading from a 12 Pro to a 16 PM. Massive camera improvement, and Bluetooth has become a little wonky on my 12 Pro.

Upgrading from a 12P 128GB to 16PM 1TB. Need more storage, as I’ve been “full“ for some time now. AI is very interesting, as are the new camera features. Also getting older, so a bigger screen should be better.

Upgrading from 15 pro max. I'm a developer and it's more financially feasible for me to upgrade my personal device yearly by basically leasing it than to buy a new device.

I was going to go with the 15 pro vs max since the smaller phone was finally on parity with the larger one (and the fact I can't use my personal phone for work anymore) but I'm also making a game and it looks so pretty on the larger screen...

Upgrading from a 14PM, mainly because I used to upgrade every year and now I'm moving to every 2. I'm mostly excited about the move to USB-C. All my devices charge from USB-C: ipad, airpods, Macbook, and my work PC, but I have to also have all these pesky lightning cables around for my wife's and my phones (she's getting a 16PM too).

But also, my 14PM battery capacity is down to 84%. Yes, I'll limit my 16PM to 80%, but with the greater battery capacity, it should be an increase for me. I'm also looking forward to the 5X optical zoom. My brother has a 15PM and shows me his zoomed pics and they're so much better than mine.

And she can also get the clear case from Apple to display it!

I’m upgrading from 13 Pro 256 to 16 Pro 256. Mainly for better cameras

I am upgrading from 13 Pro Max to 16 Pro Max. I have had the worst possible year so far, I have the money, can afford it, and I want it so I bought it. I guess if I HAD to give an answer it is because I want all USB-C and this puts me there. I honestly am not 100% sure what the differences/upgrades even are.

But the only real reason is because I just wanted to. I promise, I do not mean that snarky at all. Just felt like upgrading so I treated myself.

Upgrading from a 15 Pro Max to a 16 Pro Max mainly for the increase in screen size. I’ve always said to myself I’ll upgrade as the screens get bigger.

I know it’s not a massive bump, so if I don’t find it noticeable and there is nothing else significantly better with the phone (I.e - Speakers/Battery Life/Wi-Fi/Keyboard Lag) then I can just return it and keep my 15PM

I am upgrading to the 16PM 1TB from my 13PM 1TB.

Reasons:

1. My sim only deal with Three (UK Carrier) was up in October.

2. My 13PM battery health is at 86% and I’m having to use a MagSafe wireless battery pack pretty much every day to keep it charged. Some days it’ll go from 100% to 30 or 40% in just a handful of hours with regular use.

3. The phone does not correctly charge via the lightning cable. Charging port is faulty. There is also a slight crack in the screen but not very noticeable. When I use the cable, it recognises it but the battery % does not increase when it’s plugged in, so it only charges wirelessly which is a pain. The MagSafe pack can also become hot when it’s been charging for a while to the point where I need to take it off for it to cool down. Not comfortable to hold or use the phone when it’s hot.

To replace the battery and charging port I’d be looking at probably £90-£100 for the battery and perhaps £150 - £200 for the charging port, so it would probably cost me around £200-£300 to fix the phone to the point where I could use it for another year. The phone itself is worth £500 ish.

Other than that the 13PM works perfectly. So it’ll be my backup phone now.

So I’ve got the 16PM on a 2 year contract, unlimited everything for £81 a month (£84 upfront payment). Not too bad. Cheapest deal I could find from all the UK carriers. EE, Sky and Vodafone were all over £100 per month for the same deal.
That's an amazing deal for a 1TB 16 Pro Max. You must have gotten 20% discount or something right because EE is very expensive without discount.

Upgrading to 16 Pro Max 256GB from Iphone 8 Plus 64GB. 8 Plus still works fine, but starting to show a little bit of slowness. Also want more battery life as well as AI.

12ProMax to 16 ProMax. Was going to wait for 17 then discovered a hardware issue. Cost of that fix plus new battery (advised my MR host) made upgrade decision easier. Truthfully, not sure I am "pro" enough to warrant when 16+ seems just as good. Another marketing victim....

I’m upgrading from an iPhone 11 (non pro) 256. Running out of storage and it’s starting to show it’s age and then some, so time for a change.
