15PM to 16PM. Upgrading because I use my iPhone more than any other device, so I like having the latest and greatest.

Likewise here. It’s my main computing device given I’m always on the go so I upgrade every year. I tend to travel overseas and only bring my iPhone & AirPod Pro 2s with me. I enjoy being able to get everything I need done with a minimalist approach.

Upgrading from an iPhone 14 Pro Max 256 to 16 Pro Max Pro Max. Honestly wouldn't upgrade except I was using my phone as gps on my motorcycle and apparently the vibrations damaged the cameras... oops lol. Oh well upgrade after two years isn't horrible, would have preferred to get another year or two out of it though.

13 PM 1 TB > 16 PM 1 TB

Reasons:

- USB-C 10 gigabit (an external SSD for ProRes and quick transfers to the Mac are way overdue)
- Wifi 7
- Better cameras and shooting some stuff in 4K120 (if it’s indoors I’ll shoot with 7000 watts of lighting I’ll probably need)
- Longer battery life
- Larger screen w/ smaller bezels
- Always on display + a one-way ticket to Dynamic Island 😂

12 Pro Max 128GB to 16 Pro Max 256GB.

128GB has been feeling tight recently and my battery health is declining. I did consider upgrading last year with the introduction of USB-C and Titanium, but I wasn’t having those issues with my 12 a year ago, so decided to hold off for a larger display and more efficient 3nm process + larger battery.

Upgrading from 15 Pro Max 256 GB to 16 Pro Max 512 GB. There's no specific reason why I'm upgrading other than I upgrade every year.

I am looking forward to the faster wired charging, the improved battery life, the improved thermals, the slightly faster CPU, faster modem, and slightly larger screen size.

12PM to 16PM. $1000 AT&T trade-in offer on a 12PM is rare 4 years out. The 120hz Display! Will need a new battery within the year anyway and I'd rather put the $$ into a new iPhone. Plus I want to support the Apple team with getting those sales numbers up, as I believe they've worked really hard to perfect these lightweight, rounded edge titanium phones...they've earned my upgrade.

I’m upgrading from the 15 Pro Max 256 to the 16 Pro Max 256. I upgrade every year—whether it’s worth it or not. Gotta keep up appearances.😂 I always sell my old devices before they realize I’m trading them in for a younger, shinier model.

This time I'm curious about the improved battery, WiFi 7, and those fancy new camera filters. I shoot with a Fujifilm X100VI/GFX 100 II, so I’m curious if the iPhone can give me similar color vibes. And this time, I’m taking my phone videos up a notch—I even bought an ND filter and downloaded the Blackmagic app. I’m basically ready for my director’s chair now 😅

I am upgrading from a 15 Pro Max. I'm not happy with the battery life of the 15PM, especially when I take it on vacation. I am also looking forward to the new 48MP camera at Ultrawide and Macro levels. Faster charging at both wired and wireless levels sounds nice too. I am hoping the new cooling solution and increased chip efficiency will lead to less overheating and better sustained outdoor brightness.

The deal I am taking advantage of is this:
Trade an iPhone 12 to T-Mobile ($800 credit)
Sell my iPhone 15 Pro Max, either to Apple ($650) or on Swappa ($850-$900).

Purple 14Pro 1TB. My mom wants my 14Pro because it’s purple, so I felt like this was the perfect time to upgrade and try out the PM. Ordered Desert 1TB.

15 Plus to 16 PM.

Had the 14 Pro previously. I desperately miss the AOD.

Sucks to get a heavier phone. Happy for the larger screen and camera control. Really let down that the screen isn’t brighter. That will come next year.

pixel 9 pro xl, to 16pm, only because I have no will power, and although android is miles ahead of iOS the hardware isn't. Just need to decide whether to dig out my apple watch 7 or stick with my Garmin forerunner 265

As a 14PM owner there are enough upgrades there for that ‘new phone’ feeling, but honestly I’m most excited about boring old USB-C.

No more visiting a friend on a Sunday and realising I forgot the lightning cable and everyone else there is on android…

15PM. I want a shiny new toy, it makes the brain chemicals do the good thing. I also use my phone as a camera and not a phone 99% of the time, I also love the wide angle lens so I’m glad for the spec bump there, and I’m very excited for the camera control button so I can easily zoom in and out while filming skateboarding. I’m not a professional so I don’t need to have a professional camera, my phone is always perfect for my needs. My Mac is collecting dust because my life is run on my phone.

I also have yearly upgrades from T-Mobile, so I pay monthly to pay off half of the phone and then send it in for the new one. I can never afford to drop $1200 on a phone especially if I know I’m only keeping it for a year.
I love that you’re honest about mainly wanting a shiny new toy! 😂
If we’re being real, that’s the reason why most of us upgrade, but we come up with other reasons to justify it.
