15PM -> 16PM; iPhone Upgrade Program. As long as I remain on the program, I will upgrade yearly. If I am going to continue to pay the monthly fee, might as well have the newest device. I understand that after two years I own it, but I have no need for a two-year old iPhone.

Upgrading from a 15 Pro Max to a 16 Pro Max mainly for the increase in screen size. I’ve always said to myself I’ll upgrade as the screens get bigger.

I know it’s not a massive bump, so if I don’t find it noticeable and there is nothing else significantly better with the phone (I.e - Speakers/Battery Life/Wi-Fi/Keyboard Lag) then I can just return it and keep my 15PM
Do they charge a restocking fee?

14PM to 16 PM

Three main reasons: USB-C (one of my last Apple products to transition), lighter device compared to the stainless steel iPhone 14 Pro Max, and future proofing with Apple intelligence (not sure it's something I need right now, but might be useful as new features roll out).

It's been a few years since I changed my iPhone every two years. Now I think I will keep this one for 3 or maybe 4 years. Couldn't care less about the camera upgrades, I only want a lightweight device with USB-C and good battery life.
Future proofing with AI? Next year Tim will introduce AI 2.0 specifically designed for iphone 17, requiring 12gb of RAM

Blue 15pm to natural 15pm

Because I don’t like the blue as much as I thought I would.

13 Pro 256gb to 16 Pro 512gb, main reasons, USB-C and bigger storage, other than that, my 13 pro is still superb

I’m sure there will be more exclusive AI features in the coming years. But I’ll have access to most Apple Intelligence features anyway (and i dont have access to anything with my 14PM anyway)

15 Pro Max 256 to 16 Pro Max 256

Color, Camera improvements even if minimal, even Camera Control, Wifi 7, bigger battery, etc.

Oh and because September iPhone releases line up with my birthday month and the upgrade is a present to myself considering I rarely do anything for me. Also with trade-in, I'm usually only spending between $500-$600.

I’ve upgraded from a 13 Pro Max 128gb to a 16 Pro Max 256gb. My reason was my contract is up and it’ll be nice to have a slightly better camera.

The 13 Pro Max is still a very good phone in 2024 and in reality I could have continued with it as it’s still fast, got good battery life etc. I’ll either pass it on to a family member or sell it as it’s still got good secondhand value.

From a 14 Pro Max because I skipped 15 and the battery life currently sucks after two years (actually started getting worse a year ago)

I'm upgrading to a 16 Pro Max 512gb from a 14 Pro Max 256gb... I'm sure the Apple Intelligence will be neat, perhaps handy even, but my number 1 reason for upgrading is the camera. My friend's 15 Pro puts my pictures/videos to shame.
Have no idea what you are talking about. I have many family members share photos weekly with many different iPhone versions. I see no difference in quality with a well taken photo between any of the phones.

If want you want new phone just buy it you deserve to enjoy the update. But otherwise I suspect cognitive dissonance will rule these forums over the next few weeks.

That's an amazing deal for a 1TB 16 Pro Max. You must have gotten 20% discount or something right because EE is very expensive without discount.
I’m with three. I’ve been with them for years so whenever I upgrade with them, i always ask for any additional discount they can offer as a long time customer, so they took it from £89 down to £85 (£4 discount) and then I paid £85 up front , taking the monthly payments down to £81. So if you take the cost of the phone out, it works out my sim plan is around £17 ish a month for unlimited everything.

12 mini oddly enough. I like the form factor of the mini as I can reach all corners of the display with my thumb, but since they don’t make such a form factor any more, I thought I might as well go big or go home. Plus the battery on the 12 mini is rubbish.

White titanium 15 Pro Max to Desert Titanium Pro Max. I'm part of the Apple Upgrade Program, so I update every year. I like to get a new one each year. I look at the monthly payment as a lease payment and have a new device each year.

15PM white -> 16PM natural. Family member needs new phone, so Im going to hand the 15PM down und upgrade. This years new iPhones are shockingly underwhelming and I wouldn’t upgrade otherwise. The only thing Im "excited" about is natural titanium…

From 14 plus…to 16 pro max…reasons…usb-c .. way better cameras , bigger screen, better storage, pro motion…and so on…im excited…

White iPhone 15 Pro 256 GB to White 16 Pro Max 256 GB
The 15 is my least favorite iPhone in recent memory- it barely lasts 3/4 a day for me. Plus, I’ll appreciate the screen size. I seem to be on my phone too much.

15 Pro Max

Brainwash
I love honesty more than anything! This is so true. It’s cognitive dissonance for me. I know I don’t need it and I loathe that Tim Cook’s getting rich but I am brainwashed to having the new iPhone annually even when I have a Pixel also!

I'm upgrading from a 14 Pro Max to a 16 Pro Max. After the upgrade, my son gets my old 14 Pro Max and his current 12 Pro Max gets relegated to standby/emergency status. They're all 512 GB phones and, except for the <75% battery health on the 12 Pro Max, all are in great working shape. We might switch from an every other device cycle to an every third device cycle because of slowing improvements though.

Upgrading from XS Max after six years, my longest time between phones*. I’m looking forward to camera improvements including 5x zoom, a full capacity battery, and the many other hardware-dependent features & functions added over the last 6 years. Didn’t consider non-Pro since I really wanted the full camera experience.

*Why are they even called phones anymore? I don’t have a better suggestion, but still…😁
