Free shipping worldwide. You are really going to eat that cost. With the price you have to pay to Paypal and after paying the ebay and shipping fees you're going to be down 30-50 bucks.

Eh, with the higher price international bidders are willing to pay, I'll eat it. Worldwide shipping is only $17 through USPS. I know eBay and PayPal fees will run me about $15 too. If I can get at least $300 for it (which I think/hope I should be able to), I don't mind paying those costs too much. I still have $50 Apple credit from the price-drop, so I'm just looking to negate most of the cost of a new iPhone.

Congrats on the $385 price, it's been a while since I sold my iPod on ebay (40Gig when that was top of the line). Would you mind posting the ebay fees and paypal fees for that particular auction? From what I remember, I lost 10-20% on fees when I sold my iPod.

thanks! yeah, i think the initial fees to post the auction alone were $8.50, and i haven't looked at the final fees considering the actual sale price yet. paypal already took about $12. bastards! :D

when i posted the auction (i use garagesale) and saw the fee estimate, it reminded me of why i'd stopped selling stuff via ebay so much. i know that they need to make some money, but the combined fees for ebay and paypal (particularly now that ebay owns paypal) are just ridiculous. i see an angry email from me to them in the very near future...

My 3-month-old 16 GB sold with a Buy It Now for $519 + shipping. It sold within an hour at that price. It had a small dent on the upper left corner (which I described and had pictures of in my auction). I'm pleased, but will really miss having it before the new one comes out! It is going to Florida.

I do have my old Treo to fall back on. It's not too awful. At least it has Google Maps and the internet (sort of...I guess I should call it 1/2 of an internet with such a small screen)!

Very Stupid Question about selling iPhone

If I want to sell my "old" iphone on ebay (quickly obviously)... I am gathering that you do not need to cancel your plan. How do you take your plan (and phone number) with you to the new iphone. Do you just pop out the SIM card and sell it on ebay with no SIM and then pop it into the new iPhone? How do we know that the new iPhone will even take the same SIM card?

Sorry for the stupid questions...

Yep. Basically SIM cards are SIM cards.

I started my Unlocked 8GB iPhone with V-Moda Vibe Duos for a 3 day auction yesterday, and I started it at .99 and it's only at 1.29 with only one watcher.

Should it be higher by now, or am I worrying over nothing, and do all the bidders attack at the last second?

Most of my bids were in the last 12 hours.

just sold my 8GB iPhone yesterday for 430 shipped to Indiana this morning.

not bad for less then 1 year of use.

I have a question. I sold my iPhone on eBay today for $421. +$30 for shipping to Barcelona, Spain. I understand the seller protection thing doesn't apply to international transactions...so what is the safest way to make sure I don't get screwed? I'm assuming just documenting everything? Getting a signature release, insurace, and tracking with USPS? Any advice to someone who is totally clueless?

I would like to know Will there be any problem selling iphone to buyers in Nigeria???
I would like to play safe.
Any customs regulations or any other charges??

I'd be very concerned... I usually just ship to the USA, but for my iPhone auction which is currently on going I decided to open up to Canada as well.

If I get screwed, I'm never going to allow international shipping on anything again.

Don't do it!

Experience has shown that there are many professional scammers operating in that particular country.

I had one trying to screw me out of a valuable Sony Vaio laptop recently. Even sent me forged eBay and PayPal emails suggesting that the money had been paid when no such thing had happened.

Thanks a lot.. I will wait for geniune buyers within US.

Sold UK for £292 ~ $584

so therfore used it for a week and made $184 ~ £92 profit!!!:eek::eek:

Yeh im a bit paranoid of starting my auctions at too low of a price without setting a reserve. I just lowered the Buy it now price though.
