For me this is actually a tough decision.

Currently I'm on Verizon and I've been pretty satisfied with the service, but my god is it super expensive. I guess the tradeoff of literally having LTE everywhere is much higher costs.

I would want to sign up with T-Mobile due to their extremely cheaper rates, but the problem is that they have NO LTE coverage anywhere near me, and barely any HSPA+ or Voice coverage either.

I'd probably stick with Verizon or go find a smaller regional carrier.

Staying with AT&T because I get to keep my plan for the rest of my life. I've had the same plan since I bought my first iPhone back in Feb 2008 with unlimited data and 1500 texts/month.

I barely use any texts (everything is iMessage), so I can't justify having unlimited, but the 1500 is comfortable for what I need.

Also, AT&T coverage is nice where I live at in MI, and their customer service has always treated me well. The 4G speeds are about 5mbps-8mbps and LTE in my area is anywhere from 20mbps-35mbps depending on time of day. Plus I get 22% off my bill each month thanks to my employer.

I have no desire to switch carriers. Absolutely none. I have a plan that works for me and my needs, and as long as AT&T holds up their end of the "you can keep your plan for life" that they've told me every year, I'll say I'm good!!

AT&T since there is a tower half a mile from where I live. Besides, I have grandfathered unlimited data plan.

I'm sticking with Verizon due to unlimited data. If that was taken away I'd give AT&T a test drive to see how their coverage is here and stick with whichever offered the better coverage, most likely Verizon.

My opinion is totally biased because I'm on a grandfathered plan with AT&T. When I got my first iPhone (3GS), I had an unlimited data plan, and then they changed the plan structures a few months later. Every time I go in to re-up, I just stick with the same plan. So considering the present state of things, I have a very big reason to stay with AT&T and with my current plan. They hate that I still have this plan and have tried to obligate me to change it, but I call their bluff every time, and they don't do anything cuz they know they can't legally require me to abandon my grandfathered plan for a new, more expensive equivalent.

Contract on my iPhone 4s ended a couple of months ago. Switched to T-Mobile.

Never thought I'd be a fan of a phone company, but T-Mobile is awesome. Unfortunately I have a feeling this fandom will be relatively short-lived, with Softbank (and to a lesser extent, Dish) circling.

If T-Mobile does get gobbled up by Softbank and gets dragged down the ******* with Sprint, I'll likely switch to a MVNO like Straight Talk.

That answers this thread's question :)

My plan is just too good with at&t I pay about $225 for 3 phones with pretty much unlimited everything (I have a ton of rollover minutes I do not use plus unlimited mobile to any mobile)

Thankfully my coverage is pretty good in NYC. If I did not have my grandfathered plan I would probably check out T-mobile as they have a great looking family plan.

Sprint 7 4.32%

Ouch for Sprint. I thought that Softbank is an aggressive carrier. But they haven't done much in order to be competitive.

I swapped from Vodafone (UK) to EE (UK). Frankly, I was bored with the Vodafone customer service (personal department; their corporate team are excellent) and lack of 4G anywhere. I had an EE data plan in early 2013 and the speeds were literally insane. Happy with their 2 for 1 cinema deals as well. It's weird googling EE though; they seem to be vehemently hated in some quarters and loved in others. Classic, really - only the actual customers like it... reminders me of Apple ;)

Well, it's for sure that we live in interesting times. I guess a case can be made for just about any carrier depending on the circumstance. Not sure how I feel about T Mobile getting all tangled up with Sprint, if indeed it happens. One thing I do like, and that is how T Mobile is stirring up the market place. They are definitely being closely watched by AT&T and Verizon!

My AT&T contract is up in february and I'll be looking to switch to T-Mobile. While I love the coverage, I loathe the bill. I'm in northeast Ohio, and T-Mobile is apparently giving good coverage up here.

My reservations are with the buyout by Sprint. My boyfriend has an iPhone 5 on Sprint and hates it. Unlimited data isn't that impressive with dial-up speeds.

I wonder if these buyouts are just rumors. T-Mobile is doing very well and that's pissing off the two big telecoms in the US. What better way to starve T-Mobile of new customers than to associate them with Sprint?

I've been wanting to switch for some time now, and I'll finally be able to soon, but if I will end up with Sprint, I'd rather just keep the 4S and move to an MVNO.

T-Mobile CEO:

“This is a desperate move by AT&T on the heels of what must have been a terrible Q4 and holiday for them,” Legere said in an email to Re/code. “Consumers won’t be fooled. … Nothing has changed, customers will still feel the same old pain that AT&T is famous for. Just wait until CES to hear what pain points we are eliminating next. The competition is going to be toast!”

“We used AT&T’s cash to build a far superior network and added ‘un-carrier’ moves to take tons of their customers – and now they want to bribe them back,” Legere said. “I’m flattered that we have made them so uncomfortable!”

Verizon always. I have always had good luck and customer service with Verizon an haven't yet experienced a problem with them and Verizon has really good reception where i live an lots of LTE wherever i go.

Gotta love competition. Sprint offer a competitive plan:

It is only 7-10 lines that get you the $25 per line per month deal.

T-Mobile.

I have AT&T right now and like their service, but they are too expensive. T-Mobile offers similar service in my area for a much cheaper cost. I could use the $30-40 I would save each month and use it for something else.

Ended up signing with AT&T again. Changed my plan around a bit and the price wasn't too bad compared to T-Mobile. For the slightly higher price (i'm not talking as high as $30-40), I'll probably stick to AT&T. T-Mobile is fine in my area, but AT&T has an edge. I don't mind paying a few bucks more for it.

I will say I'm jealous of T-Mobiles free international 2G data and texting, though I haven't had the need for it.

As for Verizon and Sprint..
Verizon is good but they are too expensive. I get good enough service from AT&T and T-Mobile. Sprint is too expensive for what they offer, which is terrible service in my area.

My old iPhone 4s (AT&T), new 5s (Tmobile) and the boyfriend's iPhone 5 (sprint). My T-mobile iPhone dropped a bar (dot?) when I held it, but it still was great. We ran the test from my living room, on the couch, to the same server (Cleveland State University.)

The results are pretty telling.

That's neat. Just curious how your T-Mobile HSPA speeds are?
and lol @ Sprint.

Added Tmobile test, sans LTE. Still impressive.

Sprint: Unlimited data, at dialup speeds.
Sprint: Nascar got more money that our infrastructure did.
Sprint: Because Revol went under.
Sprint: How long will they actually pay us?
Sprint: We see that Nextel network you loved so much. It would be a shame if something happened to it.
Sprint: ...to the next provider
Sprint: It's like donating to a charity, except you have no idea what the money is really going to.

Very nice.
Yeah, I don't really understand why a lot of people put up with Sprint. Their rates aren't exactly that cheap either.

Verizon. Grandfathered into unlimited data plan and travel throughout the states including rural areas. Very satisfied with their coverage.

I'm on Verizon now, I like the coverage but could use more data, when my contract is up I will try T-Mobile, if it's not good I'll either go AT&T or stay with Verizon.
