If I were you I would file anyways. When you first file, you have to wait 5 business days for Google to get in touch with the seller. If you don't hear anything within 5 days, you can escalate it and tell them you want a refund. I heard back from Google quickly (I escalated Friday night, and last night I received their response), plus since they no longer do business with them I expect you to have a quick resolution. If you don't receive your phone back, I'm fairly confident you can sue for the value of the phone, but don't quote me on that.

Hmm I see.. I'm in doubt now.. :)
Thing is I don't want Michael to 'get mad' because he sees I'm filing a claim, possibly resulting in him stopping processing/finishing my order -assuming he was actually doing that in the first place..

So what happened to your order before you filed a claim? I suppose you already received your iPhone back? The conversion wasn't done properly or something?

Wow, with all the bad reviews and news lately on ifixdirect I'm really glad I got in early before they got overwhelmed. I definitely had my issues with their communication but not to the extent of the latest reports. And I certainly got my phone back. My parts were all top notch too.

I'm so sorry y'all have had such a hard time with them. Sounds to me that they got some parts in and then couldn't keep up with the demand. And instead of being honest with their customers they decided to just keep taking their money and hope for the best. Thats pretty ******.

Hope something positive comes of all this.

I ordered the DIY kit and did it myself. When I put everything back together, I found the touch screen did not work. I emailed and called asking for a replacement, but only received one reply back (which was to my original email) saying to send it back, with no instructions on how to do so. After a few weeks of trying to contact them to no avail, I filed a complaint with Google. I didn't send my phone in because I was confident I could do the swap myself (which I did again to get my phone back to normal).

Wow what a bloody mess.

They were straight with me for a while. A little miffed by the lie about my phone not being up to date/Jailbroken as to why my Prox sensor didnt work, but whatever.

Now the screws that hold the back plate on are coming loose and one of them doesn't thread in at all and my prox sensor is still a little wonky at time (at night mostly)

I gotta say while I sung the praises of these guys for a while it seems like they are headed into a downward spiral.

Wifi problem

so as far as the wifi problem some of you said its the top screw inside the phone? also for the my gps to work how it used to i have to replace it with my black one? Is there any other option to fixing the Compass problem????

I got it too. I ended my experience with them over a month ago.

To anyone living in the UK I can confirm that the front assembly from wefixmac.com is near perfect. And only 60 pounds. Not bad at all.

I also got that email, Google solved my issue though. I'd like to know how they are under new management if it's only one person haha.

Yea... Even a basic book keeping system would help with knowing what you've got from who...

Hey james,

I live in London and i'm really interested in the white conversion kit, i did come across wefixmac but had heard a previous negative review about the backplate being rubbish? Could you take some pictures of your white kit from wefixmac in use on ur iphone? (sorry for the off-topic PM me if you want) . I'd like to know if wefixmac have high quality parts at such an interesting price.

Alex

Hey Alex,

I've replied on my wefixmac thread. Let me know if you have any more questions. The nicest thing about wefixmac is you can actually go to the shop and look at the goods.
James.

Yea the guys from ifix probably arent making anymore white iphones for people. Their operation was weak to begin with.. I have been emailing back and forth with these guys for weeks and they got nothing. No parts, no money; nothing. DO your best to get a refund from these jokers if you want, but do not waste your time trying to get a white conversion from them..

I got my refund via paypal dispute. Still deciding if I should give up white or not.

ifix feelings hurt

Hmm I see.. I'm in doubt now.. :)

So, i received this email back from ifix after i inquired about my replacement back plate that i have been waiting weeks for:

(QUOTE) "Rick,

Please ship back your parts to us for a refund. After recently seeing the things you have been speculating about the new company, we share no interest in your business any longer. We apologize for your frustration but please do mind that if you expect "these jokers" to work with you (as you referred to us) we would appreciate a little bit of respect.

Thank you, we will be awaiting your return parts.
Happy Holidays!" (END QUOTE)

So, apparently even though ifix has consistently provided poor service and bad parts, they feel they still deserve respect. After holding people's phones for weeks on end and keeping poor contact and providing bad parts, ifix is telling people, 'If you want the service you paid for, YOU BETTER BE NICE TO US!' HAHAHAHA I find that hilarious. Whats worse is they are tryig to punish people for voicing their opinions on a public forum. In fact, i will be happily shipping my defective backplate back asap because it is now i who do not want their business.

Unbelievable. To be honest, they should spend less time checking forums and whining about their reputation and more time refunding people.

I cannot believe that they sent you this; moreover that they didn't view it as cementing their reputation as 'jokers.'

It seems like this was a fantastic business opportunity for these guys. They just needed to outsource some help and get it together. I hope everyone gets their phones and/or refunds as soon as possible.

I can't believe I ever stood up for these people... So much for the benefit of the doubt.
-EDIT-
And, I'm not sure if he still reads this thread, but I've got to eat some crow and apologize to chargit... I jumped all over him for his negativity, but it turns out it was well placed.

About when did you receive that reply?

To be honest, I've got the feeling the current management is pretty honest and doing their best to get everything solved out. It's my guess that it is Michael (former owner by now?) that's just a little incapable of properly dealing with customers (also since that's what you read about him on those designforums etc).

Yesterday I got this 'personal' reply:
We are the new owners here at iFixDirect. I have your iPhone here safe and sound, by the looks of it they already had it converted to white. I will look over everything to make sure its perfectly sound as you requested and ship it out to you. I can only imagine what you had to go through and everyday for me is a nightmare to see clients like you suffer from such poor business management.

And received this (mass sent) e-mail just today;
iFixDirect is happy to celebrate a New Year with new opportunities. We are still settling into the shoes of this business as new owners but we do make a promise for the new year that will be there for you when you need us. We have been working around the clock to make sure all your questions/concerns/claims are being answered as fast as possible and for those of you who have your iPhone stuck with the previous management, well we will be personally sending them back to you on Monday. It is beyond imagination how frustrated you may be and we cannot say enough apologies to make it better however for our new years resolution we promise to restore your faith in iFixDirect. For all of our customers who had their iPhone stuck here or had one of the nightmare situation that we were working through with you, take 50% off your next order as long as its not more then $300. We are welcoming any suggestions to help improve our customer relations and also please make sure to enter our sweepstakes over at the iphone4forum to recieve $25 off for your next color dna order.

So currently I have good hopes.. Hopefully I will -after all- receive my phone by the end of the week.
